Yung eskuelahan, ang gusto nilang ma avoid yung makasuhan sila ng parents ng student na namatay.

Here are possible options:: Dear _________; This is in reference to your letter addressed to me dated __________. Though some of my friends identify themselves with a group called ________, I have no formal membership with such organization. Very truly yours,

Note:Dito sa letter na ito you will be forcing the school to define what they mean to be a formal "member" of an organization. Technicalities na ito. You are accepting that you know the organization but they have to prove that you are a member depending upon criteria they use .. nagbabayad ka ba ng membership fee? nag apply ka ba? may acceptance letter or appointment letter ba na member ka? etc., etc., Another letter and this can be a:letter signed by a parent or a guardian.

Dear ________:

I am ___________, the parent of ___________. We received a letter dated _______ from your office. As far as I know my son (nephew etc) is not a formal member of any organization named _____________. Unless you have information to the contrary, I would appreciate if you let me know so that I can do appropriate action as a parent. Very truly yours,

___________ In this letter the parent is assuming responsibility for his child. You have responded to the letter so therefore you are not waiving your right to be heard later. You are also not denying that he is a member but that the parent does not have the information about it. In fact, the parent in this letter is asking the Committee for information which they are duty bound to give under the principle of "loco parentis". You are also asking the committee indirectly kung anong information mayrun sila at saan galing. To deny the parent this information might place them in jeopardy with their responsibility to take care of their students in place of the parents. ....... Judging from what the school is doing, whatever is the line of action you will follow, the bottom line is that the school will most likely not accept him next semester if they can not expel him now. Usually, ang school ayaw masabit sa mga usapin na ito. They would actually prefer na mag withdraw yung bata. Kasi kung hindi na sya enrolled, wala na silang pakialam to produce him or charge him. The important thing is that his transcript of records will not have "dishonorable" discharge in his transcript. Puedeng mag drop na sya at hingin na nya and transcript nya ngayon. However, kung efficient yung school, baka nasa watch list na sya ng Registrar.

The other alternative is for the parent to go to the Dean of Student Affairs (or Dean of Discipline whatever his title is) and ask for advice kunwari on what to do. The worst thing that can happen is for his name to be included in what private schools call the Student Watch List or Blacklist. This is an informal list which is circulated by schools among themselves through the security agencies they hire. I saw such list before though not openly admitted by the schools..
