SCHOOLS IN INDONESIAN PROVINCE


JECAP Meeting in Dili, East Timor 26 29 May 2012

PROGRAM DIRECTION OF JESUIT OF INDONESIAN PROVINCE In the next 5 10 years, Society of Jesus of Indonesian Province intends to involve in improving condition of country due to problems: a). povertyexpansion, b). damage of ecology and c). deterioration of nation life due toradicalism of religion. From Indonesian Province (IP) side the three problemsare a special signs of time that call a certain priority, and IP desire to face those critically using science and technology approach. IMPLEMENTATION OF PROGRAM DIRECTION IN EDUCATION APOSTOLIC A). STUDENT PLEDGE OF INDONESIAN JESUIT SCHOOL (should be learned by heart) For the greater glory of God, we students of Jesuit School Association pledge: 1. To struggle thrift, honesty and discipline in order to become a person who cares for others 2. To struggle with others to continue to build brotherhood and true friendship 3. To strive to love and promote a green, clean and healthy environment

B). PRAYER OF JESUIT SCHOOL STUDENT (in any occasion) The Almighty Father, for the greater of your glory, I offer my life struggleto you, God and my best friend. Teach me to listen to your presence through the events of life, so I can dofor others around me, family, friends, companions and those who areexperiencing difficulties in their life. Teach me to listen to your presence through them who belong to differentgroups and beliefs. Help me to be able to dialogue with them in seekingharmony, peace and friendship. Teach me to listen to your presence in an effort to create harmony withthe natural environment. Help me to be able to get involved and act to protectand preserve the integrity of your creations. At last, with Mother Mary and Saint Ignatius Loyola, and all the holywarriors of faith and creations, I dedicate my whole intention and determinationto you, now and throughout all time.

C). TO USE BACKWARD DESIGN IN ORDER TO IMPLEMENT THAT PROGRAM IN THE CLASSROOM (trying to practice) OTHER CONCERN A). TO TRAIN YOUNG / NEW TEACHER (0-5 years experience) TO GET CURA PERSONALIS SPIRIT B). STRUGGLING TO DESIGN CURRICULUM BASED ON IGNATIAN PAEDAGOGY PARADIGM

C). STRUGGLING TO REVITALIZE ADHI LUHUR SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN NABIRE, PAPUA. - True schooling is something new in this area. - There are many indigenous in this school. - This school is lack of teacher and financial matter. - Originally, this school is belong to the diocese. - Jesuit already has run it for about 14 years (asked by the bishop).

NUMBER OF JESUIT IN SCHOOL 1. Canisius Senior High, Jakarta: 2 jesuit priests (1 as principal and 1 as perfect of discipline) 2. Canisius Junior High, Jakarta: 2 jesuit priests (1 as principal and 1 as perfect of discipline) 3. Gonzaga Senior High, Jakarta: 2 jesuit priests and 1 scholastic (1 as principal, 1 as perfect of discipline, 1 scholastic as assistance for perfect of discipline) 4. Loyola Senior High, Semarang: 1 brother and 1 priest (brother as principal and the priest as perfect of discipline) 5. PIKA vocational school (on wood): 2 priests, 1 brother and 1 scholastic (priests as director and vice director, brother and scholastic as perfect of discipline) 6. St Michael vocational school (on industrial machine): 1 priest as principal 7. De Britto Senior High, Yogyakarta: 2 priest and 1 scholastic (1 priest as perfect of discipline and other one as chaplain, 1 scholastic as assistance for perfect of discipline)

8. Adhi Luhur Senior High, Nabire Papua: 1 priest, 1 brother, 1 scholastic (priest as principal, brother as treasure, scholastic as perfect of discipline) NB: a. It is very common (beside to be principal or perfect of discipline): Jesuit who works in school is used to teach (theology or ethics). b. Indonesian Province is being very eager to send young Jesuit to teacher training. We need Jesuit teacher. e. baskoro poedjinoegroho, sj.
