PMP for Project Managers COURSE INSTRUCTIONS A.

Before commencing the course :


1. Check eligibility for PMP Certification Participants must have a minimum of 3 years (for four year degree ie Bachelor degree/ global equivalent) to 5 years (secondary diploma ie high school diploma/ global equivalent) project management experience, of which at least 4,500 7500 hours were spent on leading and directing project tasks. We strongly advise you to read the PMP Handbook at the PMI website for further details: http://www.pmi.org/CareerDevelopment/Pages/AboutCredentialsPMP.aspx 2. Apply for PMP Online User Account Prior to commencing the course, participants are required to apply for a PMP online user account at the PMI website: https://authentication.pmi.org/Default.aspx?r=certification.pmi.org/default.aspx&s=true. The online user account is required when applying for the PMP credential and examination. Please provide us your online user name and registered email address once you have applied the online user account. 3. Apply for PMI Membership (optional) Participants are encouraged to sign up for PMI membership. The course fee excludes PMI membership fees which must be paid by the participant directly to PMI. For details kindly refer to the PMI website at: http://www.pmi.org/Membership/Pages/default.aspx If you are a PMI member kindly provide us with your PMI Member ID#.

B. After completing the course :


1. Submit PMP credential application Participants are required to submit their PMP credential applications online within 3 to 4 days after completing the PMP course. No online payment is necessary. It will take 5 business days for the application completeness review. The credential application may be subject to a PMI audit. You must ensure that your application adheres to audit requirements and you have the necessary supporting documentation if it is requested by PMI during the audit. Kindly refer to the PMP Handbook for details on the audit process. 2. Forward PMI's payment notification email to ISS Participants are required to forward the above to ISS course administrator, Ms Sherlyn Lim (sherlynlim@nus.edu.sg) so that ISS is able to expedite the payment. Please provide your PMI username and registered email address. ISS will notify the participant once payment is made. ISS timeline for batch payment: Payment notification received within 2 weeks after end of course (by 25 Batch payment May 2012) ISS will take about three (3) business weeks to process the payment upon receipt of PMIs invoice. PMI may take up to two (2) business weeks to complete payment processing.

3. Register for PMP examination Once payment has been processed and the PMP credential application is complete, participants will receive an email from PMI to apply for the PMP examination via the Prometric website. The PMP exam eligibility period is one year starting from the approved date of the credential application. Participants are advised to register for the exams at least 2 to 3 months before the preferred test date and 3 months before the expiration of their eligibility period. Participants are required to manage their own exam registration and to contact the exam centre directly if they miss the scheduled exam date or if they need to cancel or reschedule the exam. 4. CITREP Enrolment for Certification Exam The Certification exam is supported by CITREP Expanded (Term: 01 Apr 2011 to 31 Mar 2013), up to 50% of the exam fees, capped at $500 (exam only) per trainee. Funding support is eligible for Singapore citizens and permanent residents. Valid for examination commencing on or before 31 March 2013. Please visit www.ida.gov.sg/citrep for full details. CITREP1112/MR/11-03/367 ISS will enrol you in ICMS so that you can submit your CITREP claim after you have passed the exam within 12 months from the commencement date of the first examination.

C. After completing the PMP exam :


1. Update ISS with exam results and certification status Participants will receive the results at the test centre on the day they sit for the exam. Alternatively participants can access their results through PMIs online certification system 10 days after the examination date. Participants are required to update ISS, Ms Sherlyn Lim (sherlynlim@nus.edu.sg) once they receive their results. 2. Submit CITREP Claim for Exam Fees All claims for CITREP disbursement must be submitted to IDA within three (3) months from completion date of the last examination. Please refer to the CITREP claim guides available from: http://www.ida.gov.sg/citrep

IMPORTANT NOTE : ISS PMP REFUND POLICY PMIs refund policy listed in the credential handbook will not apply to participants who join the ISS PMP for Project Managers course. Note that there are no refunds in the following cases: If the application is selected for audit and the participant fails to meet audit requirements. If the one year eligibility period to register for the PMP exam has expired. If the participant misses the scheduled exam and fail to cancel or reschedule the exam with the exam centre, there will not be any refund of the course and/or fees.
