To show my progression throughout English 101 I have chosen four of my five essays to display and correct them based on what I have learned over time. My first four essays are the ones I chose. I feel like my writing has gotten better over time and if my theory is correct there should be more problems with my first essay than my second; my second from my third and so on. Our very first project was on what good writing was to us, it was meant for the class to write about what we expected good writing took look like in an effort to help us write as we described in the paper. I ran into some problems during this paper was how to go about explaining good writing and trying to convince our audience on why they should look at writing the same way the author does. Some changes I made to this essay will be some grammar mistakes like, comma placement and fragments. Also, I took into account all the suggestions Ive gotten and make changes based on if I think I should implement those suggestions. This essay was the easiest one of the four I have chosen to do. I ran into few problems with this one but one problem I did run into with this paper was while writing it; it was coming up with a topic. The next essay we had to write was on our path to becoming the writer that I am today. A few changes to this essay I made were some grammatical ones that I can find and some of the ones listed. I got more feedback on my paper and took some suggestions given into mind and made alterations to my paper from the suggestions. When I read through my paper I tried to

distance myself from it reading it as if it wasnt my paper but a peers. My favorite part of this essay was recalling my memories of my path through school and how my writing has changed since then. The easiest part of this paper, was writing about the time in school and how it molded my writing, but the hardest part was telling how I write and my process to writing since I never really had one. The third essay we had to write about discourses is to help a writer differentiate between two different types of writing formal and informal. What I did with this paper to better it was added more details and explained gees t theories more; because after reading a suggestion I feel that this was needed immediately. Also I would like to go through and correct some grammatical errors that I have missed my first time revising because this time Im going to try and distance myself from my writing. From this project I learned that you must keep your informal writing distant from your formal writing. The best part was observing the way my friends speak and thinking of all the slang we use; the hardest part of this was explaining Gees theories in the way he did. The final essay I have chosen is our fourth essay about how we learned to read and write to our present day form of reading and writing. This was one of the easiest yet fun assignments we had to write this semester, it was easy because I could recall how I learned to read and write quickly because of pictures and memories at the time. Changes to this essay I have made are similar to the others. For instance, grammatical errors such as: Fragments, Misspelled words, Comma usage, and put in more details where needed. person to read over my paper just to have more suggestions and ideas on how I can improve my paper. In Conclusion, I have chosen these four papers out of the five because these were the first four papers. I feel as if these papers would need the most editing and revising, because since my first paper I feel as if I can get only better as a writer. So my fifth paper is already as good as I can make it. I can only try and make the first four just as good or even better from more experiencing writing and the teachings throughout English 101.
