Proposed Title:

Finance System for Real Life Christian Communities

Area of Investigation:

Real Life Christian Communities is a born again Christian church located at San Pedro Laguna. This church although a nonprofit organization is receiving tithes and donations by its members and attendees. This giving are used to pay bills of the church including its ministry expenses, having said of this, a group of people called the finance team is gathered to perform a specific task: recording all money transactions from giving to the Churchs expenses.

A Finance System is proposed to be of help Real Life Christian Communities. This system will eliminate manual procedures which will minimize human errors, speed up the recording process and will greatly make it convenient to search for records. One of the features of this software is that it will be perfectly suited in the requirements of the finance team. This software will include a database system, and the Graphical User interface (GUI) will be created in a Visual Basic 6.0 platform

Reasons for the Choice of Project:

The current finance team of Real Life Christian Communities is operating by a manual procedure meaning, they are using log books and a lots of papers. Searching for records is extremely hard. Not including the files for their expenses. The proponents would like to be of help to this Real Life Christian Communities. Finance System will greatly reduce manual procedure for their work, using a database system for recording and a GUI perfectly suited for their ministry.

Importance of the Study:

The proposed study will have a great significant value to Real Life Christian Communities especially to the finance team. The proposed study will provide a user friendly system that will be necessary to help them record the correct data. The system will reduce the problem of Real Life Christian Communities finance team regarding on the records of the members contribution, in a shorter period of time. It is important in such a way that it benefits not only the finance team but the administration and members as a whole. It lessens the workload, and provides accurate information.

Target Users/Beneficiaries:

After gathering some information about the RLCC, the proposed study will benefit the following:

Finance Team. The proposed study will greatly speed up the process of recording, and searching for records through the use of database.

The software development tools to be used for the creation of the proposed system are Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 for the interface and Microsoft Office Access will be used for the database.

The study aims to develop a finance system for RLCC, this part defines the scope and limitation of the proposed system.

The proposed software will provide an application, created to record all the so called Giving like tithes and offerings, pledges, donations and love gifts per person. Meaning the proposed system aims to record weekly giving of each person attending the church individually. This method will sum up the total giving of a person in yearly or even monthly basis making it possible for the members to have a report on how much financial support they gave to the Church, allowing the Church to officially thank these persons specifically.

The proposed software will also include calculations for the Churchs expanses. Meralco, San Pedro Water District, BIR etc. This added feature will also reduce the extensive efforts of the Churchs Finance Team for calculations and recordings. The overall structure of the proposed system will reduce not only time spent for manual recording and calculation, but also minimize the amount of human errors.
