A SPECIAL W0RKSHOP Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

Presenters: Mark Howard, PhD., licensed psychologist, is recently retired after 25 years with Kaiser Permanente. For the past 30 years Dr. Howard has also been a national training consultant for 3 Principles based trainings and is currently a consultant for the 3 Principles Services Division. He is co-author of Myth and Realities a primer on the 3 Principles as a treatment for substance abuse and a clinical application for working with individuals diagnosed with mental illness and substance abuse.

Would it be helpful to learn how to access peace of mind when the many challenging symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), such as flashbacks, nightmares, insomnia, anxiety, physical, and emotional distress start to occur?
At times it may seem like a hopeless situation, leaving you thinking that you are powerless and at the mercy of your memories and the feelings that come with PTSD. However, the understanding of the principles of Mind, Consciousness and Thought offer hope that anyone suffering from PTSD can find their resiliency and the wisdom to resolve their symptoms. Our goal at this workshop is to help participants learn a new understanding about the Thought - Feeling connection in a way that people gain a sense of control over their feelings. The discovery of the 3 Principles provides people with the hope that anyone can access an innate potential so powerful that once discovered they no longer need to be a victim of their thinking, even when that thinking is creating the symptoms of PTSD Learning Objectives: Understand the nature of Thought and how that helps manage frightening memories Recognize what all symptoms of PTSD have in common Discover how an understanding of the Principles accesses an innate wisdom that provides the potential to overcome PTSD symptoms

Joe Gonzales is a certified trainer of the 3Principles Service Division. He facilitates the Friday Community class for Men and has built a community of online 3 Principles based Facebook groups. Joe is currently working on a principle-based addiction DVD with Dr. Mark Howard, which will be available in 2012. He is pursuing his CAADC certification at SJC College.
