Findings

a. Dosing Ratio of Anti-Caking Agent Vs Granule Size As per normal practice, dosing ratio need to be controlled between 0.8 kg/tan product to 1.5 kg/tan product. However, suggestion from supplier, need to increase to minimum 1.5 kg/tan product on anti caking to avoid any caking tendency. By compiling and analyzing December 2011 and January 2012 data and results, it was found that the anti caking ratios need to be increase when ever sizing change. Below listed December 2011 and January 2012 findings on average dosing of wax regards to granule size. With refer to the above table, we found that the higher on size granule product obtain in sampling; the potential to reduce wax consumption will be increased. This condition can be explained with composite theory whereby Matrix phase when surrounded by fiber phase, will crease a unique bound which will leads to high strength structure (refer ATTACHMENT 1). b. Wax distribution Wax or any anti-caking agent will only work best if it coats the outer layer of each individual granule. The best coating results will only be achieved if the anti-caking agent was being distributed evenly. Base on that as well as the recommendation by our supplier, nozzles installed inside D 213 by mean to ensure wide and even distribution of coating agent. As samples gathered and analyzed, it was found that lab result consistently in track. (Refer ATTACHMENT 2). Lab Result Analysis (kg/tan prod) Mean Median Standard Deviation Range December 2011 1.60 1.595 0.56 1.99 January 2012 0.83 0.92 0.42 1.6

With refer to the data, Mean and Median can be affected by the size distribution of the granule itself. However, by looking at the standard deviation and the range obtain, it seems the system becomes more stable by installing the nozzle. Note that both numbers for standard deviation and range shows reductions of almost 20% which means the precision is getting in place.

c. Losses With all data showing that our lab result is getting more precise after the installation of our modification discussed above, one result basically worries the most as the actual dosing shows to get the free flowing granules in bags, we need to introduce more anti caking agent. The most unpleasant condition was when lab result shows that approximately 50% of our anticaking agent loss when introduce to system. Below is the data which shows both 2 months of losses; December 2011 53.97 35.91 January 2012 50.29 9.10

Actual Sampling vs. Lab, % Actual Sampling vs. tank , %

By looking at the data, the gap for tank level reduction is reducing but the actual sampling ratio vs. lab ratio seems to be consistent having 50% losses. Thus, new solutions need to be considering with detail study on why the losses remain as 50% (Refer ATTACHMENT 3). 1.2 Conclusion

Parameter to be concern during anti caking test is very minor. Besides the condition of product after bagging, price per tan product will be considered as well. Below are the findings which can support the test.

Matters Discussed Granule Size Wax Distribution Losses

Findings 2-5 mm > 90% consume lower wax Good distribution with nozzle Consistently 50% losses

Remarks Can still be optimize Standard Deviation Need to find other mean
