Fitness: 5 tips for staying motivated Parks & Recreation
Are you having trouble sticking with your fitness program? Stay motivated with these 5 Department invites you

relax. Reflect on what you’ve just accomplished. Savor the good feelings that exercise
gives you. This type of internal reward can help you make a long-term commitment to
regular exercise.
Now that you’re enthusiastic again, get moving! Set your goals, make it fun and pat yourself
on the back from time to time. Remember, physical activity is for life. Review these tips
whenever you feel your motivation sliding.

Four pools indoors (open year-round):


• A 25-yard by 25-meter, L-shaped, six lane competition pool w/low & high dives in the deep end.
• An activity pool for children, kept at 86˚F with water toys.
• A 92˚F warm pool, fully accessible, w/ramp, pool lift & stairs for seniors, disabled & special programs.
• Two waterslides empty into the slide pool. These fully enclosed slides are 20 feet high and 180 feet
long creating a thrill ride for people of all ages. Minimum height to ride the slide is 48 inches.

• A 25-yard competition pool in a spectacular setting with a view of Job’s Peak and the Sierra Nevada.
• A separate small pool ideal for younger children and families.
• Exercise Equipment: Two treadmills, lifecycle, life step, multi-station gym, free weights (3 - 40 lbs)
& a PreCor EFX556 located in the multipurpose room. This equipment is available during regular
center hours for adult (18+) patrons.

Various fees for Kids Club, drop-in classes, dance & exercise programs, contracted classes, sport leagues and other programmed activities in the

Paid Daily Walk – Drop-in Guests and Pass holders are entitled to use of the gymnasium, weight room, jogging track and gym restrooms. Use
of the gym, weight room, jogging track and rock wall is only available during normal hours of operation and when the designated areas are not
being utilized for scheduled Department programs or reserved activities and events.
Annual Pass may be paid in full or by an Auto-Debit system. With the Auto-Debit system, the first quarter installment is paid at the facility
when the pass is purchased, with the remaining balance automatically deducted from a checking account for the next consecutive 3 months. A
$1.50 charge will be added to each installment for annual pass holders utilizing the auto-debit system.
All pass holders are required to carry the Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department Photo Identification Card as the facility operates on a
bar code system. There is no charge for the first card provided.
