The human resources department is a vital element of any company or business organization. It is in charge of selecting, hiring, and staffing of employees for the effective delegation of tasks and functions in a firm. This vital role requires a certain degree of care on the part of a human resource manager. Careful attention must be given to selecting the right people, screening applicants, creating job descriptions, filling up job vacancies, and hiring the right person for the job. NLP is a field of study that provides a variety of techniques and methods that help improve many areas of business. It can be used for sales, administration and also in human resources management. The job interview is one of the basic tools that the human resources department uses to qualify applicants and determine whether they are fit for the job or position being applied for. Knowledge of NLP techniques is important for a personnel manager or job interviewer. The reason for this is that it is not possible to fully "know" an applicant just by reading a CV or resume. For an HR manager to gain insight regarding the character, values and motivation of an individual, he needs to look beyond the submitted credentials and the words being said by the applicant.
