Symptom
When current-year transactions for legacy assets are entered in the SAP System via transaction AS91 and subsequently the asset transactions/retirements report is run, the system does not take any posting date of the transactions from the legacy system into account. Instead it shows the same uniform posting date of the first day of the current fiscal year, in which the legacy data transfer has taken place. Hence, all transactions show the very same posting date. Note: the actual conversion is during the fiscal year, hence the legacy takeover/transfer date is during the fiscal year: in our example this is 31.03.2010.

Reproducing the Issue

1. Execute transaction AS91: start process of creating a legacy asset taken over during the fiscal year as per our example on 31.03.2010 (Fiscal year start is 01.01.2010). 1.1. Go to 'Takeover values', and then to 'Transactions': note that the legacy data transfer date is during the fiscal year (fiscal year start is 01.01.2010)

1.2. Enter in the SAP system the transactions from the legacy system:

2. Go to transaction SE38 and enter either Asset Transactions Report RABEWG_ALV01 for acquisition postings or Asset Retirement Report RAABGA-ALV01 for retirement postings. 2.1. Execute the reports. 2.2. Note the posting date for the transactions: it is the same for all current year transactions that are taken over from the legacy data system. It is always the first day of the current fiscal year, which in this example it is 01.01.2010.

Cause
When a legacy data transfer during the fiscal year is performed and posted current year transactions from a legacy system are taken over and uploaded in the SAP System (e.g. via transaction AS91), the system takes and shows the first day of the fiscal year as the posting date for these transactions in asset accounting reports. This is regardless of when the transaction was posted in the legacy system.

Resolution
This is not an error, this is how the system functionality is designed.
