Course Details: Embedded Systems: 1. Basics of micro controller 2. Basics of Sensors, drivers, relays along with types commonly used and their functionality with circuit diagram and all the needed. 3. Embedded C - Keil is used for programming and debugging the code. 4. LED interfacing - types of interfacing to micro-controller along with clear power analysis and fan-in fan-out concepts and programming. 5. ADC interfacing. The types of ADCs available, different types of circuits of ADC, types in which ADC can be interfaced, and programming. 6. Seven segment display interfacing. Types of interfacing - for this BCD to seven segment drivers can be used for easy programming or they can be interfaced normally. Both will be taught but hands on approach will be given with any one as a constraint of hardware. 7. Push button or switch interface. Circuit diagram along with programming. 8. 4x4 matrix keypad interface Circuit diagram and programming. By using this many interesting and real time applications can be designed like calculator which will be taught. 9. RS232. Serial programming. The use of it. Why to use a driver like MAX232 while interfacing it to a computer etc and programming will be taught along with concepts of baud rate and other useful things. ROBOTICS WORKSHOP: The same board which is used for embedded systems is used for Robotics along with an external board for L293D used to drive the motors. Two sensors will be given extra which are used to build different kinds of robots like line follower, light follower or repellent, obstacle avoider etc. All the things which are mentioned in the above embedded systems workshop are taught along with the foll owing 1. How to use sensors, different types of sensors and programming the sensors. 2. A few applications like gate counter which is used to counting the number of people who entered the room and other examples are taught. 3. Line follower and its programming. all the other robots come under same category. Stress will be shown

depending on the students. If they are able to cope up we can go ahead. else we will explain the remaining in detail. 4. Obstacle avoider and its programming. 5. Computer controlled robot. Separate software will be made to design by students in .NET, MATLAB or C by which is used to operate the robot. All the robots mentioned above are programmed by the student itself. Guidance will be given to all.

IMAGE PROCESSING: All the things mentioned in the above workshop are covered along with basics of image processing, color recognition, object movement and other basic level things are taught. The needed for building the specific robot will be covered. Students are advised to have a laptop with their own webcam which is used for making the application We do not provide camera. 1. Basics of image processing 2. Introduction to MATLAB 3. Acquiring image data from camera 4. Storing and processing the data. 5. Manipulating the data for our clear view. 6. Different types of image formats and converting from one form to another. (Like RGB to grayscale or black and white etc) 7. How to detect if an object is moving in-front-of a camera. 8. Creating virtual buttons by a cam. 9. A virtual game will be made to design something like (catch the virtual bug) IMAGE PROCESSING + ROBOTICS: All the above mentioned things in embedded systems, robotics and image processing are emphasized along with the required application are made. A few topics may which are unnecessary may be left out as a constraint of time.
