fter leaving my first career with a communications company and before being part of a local church staff, I served with a mission agency part time while finishing my degree at Warner Pacific College. During that time I had the privilege of going on a one week Farewell Tour to Mexico with Ron Post, the founder of Northwest Medical Teams, now Medical Teams International. This was Rons last visit to the ministry he started in partnership with Manos de Ayuda in Mexico City and Oaxaca City. We participated in a clinic, visited a school located in a garbage dump, poured a concrete floor for a new pastors house (one room about 12 X 15) and visited a few famous sites.

From Mexico with Medical Teams, to Portland with MIF, God has arranged a network of connections that allows us to continue in ministry through the years. We have also started our next book project, tentatively titled Recovery 101. This book is meant to help couples understand where they are in the recovery process and that it is normal to feel a certain way at each stage of recovery. We are using stories from the couples in our group to illustrate the different stages of recovery. Of course, we change the names to assure confidentiality!
