Spring lasts from March to May and seems to be an ideal time for sightseeing.

Early spring may still experience some cooler days (where a light coat or sweater is needed), but in late April and May the days are much warmer when only short sleeves can be worn. Occasional rain showers may occur at this time. Average temperatures range from 2C to 17C (35 to 62F). Getting Downtown From Narita Airport: Train: The most popular mode of transport for getting into the city from Narita. JR Railways runs two trains into the city, both of which go through Tokyo Station. The Narita Express takes 60 minutes and costs 2,940 yen. Upon reaching Tokyo station it splits in two with one end usually going to Omiya in Saitama Prefecture by way of Shinjuku and Ikebukuro and the other end going to Ofuna in Kanagawa Prefecture by way of Yokohama. The Narita Express departs every 30 minutes during peak times and every 60 minutes otherwise. JR Railways also runs the kaisoku service, which is part of the local transit network that stops at many stations. It is the slowest and cheapest train into Tokyo, with a travel time of about 85 minutes and tickets that cost 1,280 yen. It departs every hour. Keisei, a private company, runs two trains between Narita and Tokyo: the Skyliner service, which takes 56 minutes and costs 1,920 yen, and the premium service, which takes 75 minutes and costs 1,000 yen. The latter is the cheapest way to get to Tokyo from Narita; departures are approximately every 20 minutes. Getting Around Train and subway Japan is home to one of the most extensive mass transit systems in the world. To newcomers, it can seem confusing, as there are several distinct railway systems: the JR East network, two subway systems, various private lines. The defining rail line is JR Yamanote, which runs in a loop around the core of Tokyo. JRs lines are color coded; Yamanote is green. The JR Chuo (orange) and Sobu (yellow) run east/west through the Yamanote loop, and the Saikyo and Keihin-Tohoku lines go north and south. You can reach JR East in English by calling 050-2016-1603 or 03-3423-0111. The two subways are Tokyo Metro (nine lines) and Toei (four lines). They are useful for getting around within the Yamanote loop. Trains run frequently. Private commuter lines can be caught around the Yamanote loop and are good for day trips into the outlying suburbs. They are slightly cheaper than JR. In general, Tokyo Metro is cheapest, Toei is most expensive, and JR falls somewhere in the middle. JR trains are free with a Japan Rail Pass. Pre-paid cards can expedite the process of getting around in Tokyo, and there are two brands: JR Easts Suica and PASCO, which is offered by private lines. Without a pre-paid card, subway and train fares are based on distance. Prices range from 110 yen to 310 yen when travelling around central Tokyo. Many private lines interoperate with the subways and transferring between the two can sometimes make a ride expensive, so plan your trip beforehand using the Tokyo Transfer

Guide, an online service offered by the Tokyo Metro and Toei subway companies at www.tokyo-subway.net/english. Most train lines run from 5 am to 1 am. Its usually three minutes between trains and rarely longer than 10 minutes. There are many toy stores in Tokyo, however, I'm not sure about t-shirts and vinyl toys.
