CAPSULE MIGRATION TEST IN WATER FOR 1 HOUR AT 100C

1. PURPOSE Verification of inertia of material coming into contact with food. Overall migration test.

2. REFERENCE DOCUMENTS NF EN 1186 standard, sections 1 and 3 European directive EEC n 85/572 dated 19/12/85 modified European directive EC n 97/48 dated 29/07/97 European directive EC n 2002/72 dated 06/08/02, modified Ruling dated 02/01/03 (OJ dated 29/01/03), modified Rule (EC) n 1935/2004 dated October 27th 2004.

3. DESCRIPTION OF SAMPLE Sample received at the laboratory on March 4th 2011 Capsule in black plastic material This sample is intended to enter into contact with coffee. Specific conditions of use : one trip capsules (to prepare coffee).

5. CONCLUSIONS In the test conditions applied, overall migration of this material is below the limits fixed by the rules in the simulating liquid representing aqueous, non acid, non alcoholic and non fat foods (simulant A of rulings 85/572 and 87/48)..

adhesive S692N

Adhesive S692N conforms with recommendations BfR n X1V for direct use on dry, damp or non fat foods. To be used at temperatures between 20C and 80C. Excerpt from technical data sheet from or supplier of adhesives.

III. FLOWPACK

Co-extruded, bi-stretched , transparent, direct printing polypropylene film, which is heatsealable, in 30 In conforrmity with the requirements of : European ruling 1935/2004 dated October 27th 2004 EC Directive 2002/72/EC concerning materials and objects in plastic intended for contact with food, modified by Ruling 975/2009 and Directives 2008/39/EC, 2007/19/EC, 2005/79/EC, 2004/19/EC and 2004/1/EC. French rules in force concerning materials and objects in contact with food, i.e. Decree n 2008-1469 dated December 30th 2008 modifying Decree n 2007-766 dated May 10th 2007 concerning materials and objects intended for contact with food, products and drinks for the feeding of humans or animals.

In the case of the above-described material and/or object, this conformity is to be understood in a context of the governing texts and/or other reference texts.

The material and/or object listed above, normal and foreseeable use having not led to any unacceptable modification of its composition, or change in the organoleptic character of the food concerned, is thus acceptable :

IV. PACKAGING

For the flow pack packaging of 50 capsules + 13 sheets of covers, we use film in conformity with the rules concerning materials in contact with food.
Bearing in mind the above conformity, we pack our products in a workshop under the following conditions :

closed off workshop with smooth walls and rounded plinths workshop well away from any dust producers (e.g. non proximity to cardboard carton compactor) anti breakage film on glass workers wear disposable overalls and head gear work done with clean hands hands washed with hydro-alcohol gel when anything other than the product or film is touched any product which falls to the floor is rejected.

The workshop and machinery are cleaned following the procedures validated by the DDPP (Departmental Direction of Population Protection) with products passed for contact with food.

This declaration is intended for EQUITY for the packaging of empty capsules and covers under printed flow pack film. 02/05/2011.
