- The UN observers were attacked with gunfire during their attempt to enter the Latakia besieged town of AlHaffa.(1)(2)(3)(4)(6)(7) - Syria's official TV accused the "armed opposition" of conspiring to kill pro-government people and trying to make it seems as if a massacre was committed at the hands of AlAssad's forces in the Latakia town of Al-Haffa!(3)

Military Situation
- Al-Assad's troops continue its violent bombardment of Al-Haffa town and nearby villages in Latakia. Military reinforcements arrive in preparation for storming into the city.(4) - Selim Al-Omar, a spokesman for the Free Syrian Army (FSA) in the city of Latakia, said the FSA troops withdrew from the town of Al-Haffa, adding, "There are several thousands of civilians left without anyone to protect them from the Alawite militias surrounding the town."(2)(3) - Colonel Arif Al-Hamoud, deputy chief of staff of the Free Syrian Army (FSA), confirms that the FSA has now more than 1,100 officers, who have defected from the Assad regular Army, adding that the number is on the increase following Houla massacre.

- Burhan Ghalyoun, former head of the Syrian National Council (SNC), urges Russia, big powers and other countries concerned with the Syrian crisis to sign a document proposing that Bashar Al-Assad resigns in order to start negotiations serving as basis for the transitional period.(1)

Activities of Civil Organizations

- The United Nations (UN)s Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict Radhika Coomaraswamy said during the Syrian violence, children had been targeted. "Many former soldiers spoke about shooting into civilian areas, seeing children, young children being killed and maimed, she said. She also added" We also had testimonies and saw children who had been tortured, and who carried the torture marks with them. We also heard of children being used this was recounted to us by some children of being put on tanks and being used as human shields so that the tanks would not be fired upon.(1)(2)(3) - The United Nations (UN) said that the Syrian government is among the worlds worst offenders against children.(1)(2)

- Violent clashes took place in Deir Al-Zour's squares between the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and the regime's Army, which coincided with a huge explosion that rocked the city.(1) - Al-Assad's artillery and helicopters violently bombed Homs's districts, including Al-Khalidiya, Al-Qarabis, Talbisa, Al-Qoseir, Al- Rastan and many other villages.(1)(2) - Al-Assad security forces set fire to crops in Daraa's Inkhel, whose streets witness intensive presence of snipers and tanks, which forced large population to leave the town.

- Sources told the pan-Arab daily Asharq Al-Awsat that "Over the past few months, the Free Syrian Army (FSA) used to launch a limited operation in Homs's countryside and run away, but, now, the reverse is true, the regular army is the one that carries out an attack against the FSA and quickly withdraw to avoid suffering huge losses."(1)

International

- US Ambassador to Kuwait Matthew Tueller said that his country agreed with the Russians on the necessity of Assad regime's abdication, but there are differences with Russia and China about the method that should be adopted in its abdication.(3) - Political analysts said that massacres committed by Shabiha (militia affiliated to Syrian regime) in some regions like Houla and Qubeir are sort of ethnic cleansing whose aim is to force the Sunni people to leave those regions to be a safe stronghold for the Alawite people on the western coast of Syria in case the regime retreated with regard to facing the revolution.(3)
