Further Information:

First priority will be given to working, training, studying parents who live or work in the Surf Coast Shire. All cancellations now require 7 days notice. If less than 7 days notice full fees will be charged unless a medical certificate is presented. Those eligible for CCB will only be charged the discounted fee with an allowable absence credited against your records. Children should bring a packed nutritious lunch, drink bottle with their name on it and enough snacks to last all day. Strictly no nut products please due to some children being at risk of anaphylaxis. Lunch orders will be available during the program, however there will be no lunch orders on any excursion days. Please note the vending machines will no longer be available for children to access whilst at the program. For excursion days we advise that children cannot bring any spending money. All children must bring along a broad brimmed hat and sunscreen each day of the program in line with our Sun smart policy. Staff may be required to apply sunscreen to your child for any outdoor activities. This service is registered with ACECQA1 for the National Quality Framework assessment. Video footage and photographs will be taken of your child for our Quality Improvement Plan and accreditation. These images may also be fused or internal/promotional purposes. Please contact the Program Manager for more information. We follow Surf Coast Shire guidelines in regards to sustainability, recycling and the local environment. The program may be subject to change due to inclement weather conditions and any unforeseen circumstances. A copy of the Service and Parent Handbook will be available during the program. Parents of children with any special needs should contact the Program Manager prior to the program commencing.

School Holiday Program for 5-12 year olds Monday 2 July to Friday 13 July 2012
Program operates 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday with a lunch break from 12.30-1.00pm Program sponsored by Surf Coast Shire. Conducted at Surf Coast Sport & Recreation Centre

Substantial discounts are available for families who qualify for Child Care Benefit. For example, if you receive 100% CCB and you are entitled to the maximum eligible hours you will only pay $15.72 per day (extra cost applies for excursion days). All new families must provide a current family CRN and individual child CRN for the enrolment process. You need to contact the Family Assistance Office and tell them Surf World Vacation Care Program (organisation ID 1-60C-33) is the care provider and they will issue you with CRNs. Enrolment Information::

Enrolments for working, training, studying parents who live or work in the Surf Coast Shire will be taken at the Surf Coast Sport & Recreation Centre from Tuesday 12 to Friday 22 June between 9am and 5pm. All other families can enrol from Monday 25 June between 9am - 5pm if vacancies exist. A maximum of 60 enrolments will be taken each day. A maximum of 15 enrolments for the Big Day Out program only. Any 5 year old children must be attending primary school to be eligible to attend the program. Office, email and facsimile bookings with the completed enrolment form will only be accepted. Please note phone bookings will no longer be accepted. All enrolment forms must be signed by a parent or guardian prior to the program commencing, if not signed we cannot accept your booking. Families with any outstanding fees from a previous program will not be permitted to enrol children until those fees have been paid in full. A late payment fee of $30 will apply to all overdue accounts.

Monday 2 July - Earth friendly craft & World Game Day Create your own desk stationery organizers, bring along an old tin can, shoe box or cereal box.! Please ensure no nut product packaging. Mix up some delicious muffins and get your mates together for our futsul competition. Tuesday 3 July - Make, bake & escape to Asia day Personalise your very own mug, make a fun fruit & veg fridge magnet and decorate a pretty paper fan. Ride the Oriental Express as you dine on delicious chinese chicken & corn soup. Design & race your own dragon boat and compete in a rickshaw race. Learn to write your name in Japanese katakana. Wednesday 4 July - All day excursion to Readings Cinema & Leisurelink: Chill out with your mates at a latest release rated G or PG then splish, splash and slide your afternoon away at Leisurelink. Bus leaves at 9am sharp and returns by 5pm. Thursday 5 July - Dare to dream, design, & skate up high day! Catch your bad dreams and change them to good with a feathered handmade dream catcher. Create a marbling piece worth framing and have some fun with Hama beads. Check out the mini skating demo, pick up some safety tips and learn some new skating tricks! Compete in the SHP skating competition. Practice you aerial moves by bouncing around on the indoor jumping castle! Friday 6 July - Just do it day! Put down the remote, switch off the WII & PS2 & turn off your phone. Its time to be part of your very own app! Catapult angry birds at the pigs on their perch. Escape the gorillas to claim the coins in temple run. Play a game of human chess and help make a giant SHP mural. Travel down memory lane and create your own SHP scrapbook.

Monday 9 July - Big Island Luau Festival Make a Lei (flower necklace), grass skirt & be part of the hoopla with Tarnya from Hoop Fusion. In the afternoon experience wheelchair basketball and have a chat with Paralympics superstars. Make mini hot Hawaiian pizzas for late arvo snack. Tuesday 10 July - Who are you? Hoo(t) Hoo(t) Light up your life with a lantern all about you. Make an autumn owl and visit past program wooden and paper crafts. What will your creation be... a mystery!? Piece all the clues together to solve a mystery, be fingerprinted and find the missing treasure. Wednesday 11 July - All day excursion to ACMI & MCG Sports Museum Visit the Australian Centre for Moving Image: engage in spectacular and interactive exhibits, learn about video games and step into the world of television. After lunch attend the renowned MCG for awesome hands on and mind boggling sports culture and displays. Bus leaves 9am sharp and returns by 5pm. Thursday 12 July - Master the art of plaster and move your feet to the beat day Paint & decorate a plaster piece, a wooden flower in a pot or a rocket and some window art that is sure to brighten any room. Aerosport Allstars are visiting for an explosive Hip Hop workshop. Help design wearable art and chill out at our own big screen movie theatrecomplete with a fresh popcorn treat. Friday 13 July - Half day excursion to Readings Cinema & Bush Dance day New release G or PG movie in the morning followed by our very own SHP bush dance extravaganza. Bus departs 9am sharp and returns 1pm.

Big Day Out Program 9-12 year olds


This exciting program will be offered on Monday and Thursday and from 9.30am-4.30pm. Staff will supervise and take kids on fun all-day excursion activities. The cost will be an extra $22 per day to cover bus hire and entry fees. Please note there will be a cancellation fee of $22 if bookings are cancelled on the day. A maximum of 15 children can be enrolled each day. NOTE: bookings must be made during the advertised booking times to secure your place. No spending money to be taken on Big Day Out program. Timetable below may be subject to change with short notice

Week 1 Monday 2 July - Big Neigh Out Horse riding at Spring Creek Horse Rides and enjoy horsing around at Jan Juc Play park/ tennis courts (30 places available). Thursday 5 July - Bowling & Mill Markets Bowl em over in the lanes and then explore the markets, bring spending money (max $10) for that special something.

Week 2 Monday 9 July - Wyn City Indoor Play Centre Attend an action packed day of Balladium blaster, laser maze, bowling, bumper cars & glow mini golf. Thursday 12 July - The Rock & Wool Museum Test your strength indoor rock climbing and discover Box Worldmade entirely of recycled materials.
