Summer Camp Details

St Luke’s Steel Band welcomes

you to its first summer camp.
Space is limited, so we advise
you to sign up as soon as you
are able. The camp runs from
June 25th- July 6th at the cost
of $150 per student, with a 50%
deposit due on/before June
4th. Enrollment in this camp
enables your child in the
future to become a member of
the renowned St Luke’s Steel
Band.
We look forward to spending
our time with you and your
child during the summer.

St Luke’s Steel Band invites you to
participate in its first steel pan
summer camp.
This will be an intense but fun and
educational program that teaches
students primarily how to play steel
pan. They will also learn steel pan
history, percussion techniques and
music theory.
At the end of two weeks students
would have the skills needed to
continue learning steelpan at an
even rapid pace.

The camp will run from June 25th to July 6th from Steelpan, learn to read music,
9am-1pm daily and will be held at St Luke’s theory and steelpan history 9am-1pm 150.00

packed lunch, and a happy and positive attitude -

Camp Teachers:
Debby Teason, composer, director and arranger,
Parent’s Name
has been involved with pan for over 20 years.
She was the founding musical director of St. Address
Luke’s Steel Band, and also teaches pan at
Neighborhood Music School, Yale University,
Foote School, Co-op High School and Highville
Charter School. Ms. Teason’s compositions for
pan include Trinity for steel band and orchestra, Phone
Cadences for solo tenor pan and string quartet
(premiered by Liam Teague and the Vermeer

Quartet) and Essakane for three tenor pans,
piano, bass and percussion.
Kenneth Joseph, Graduate of the University of Method of Payment
the West Indies (UWI) and Northern Illinois Check Cash
University (NIU) with Bachelor’s and Master’s
degrees in music, respectively. Mr. Joseph has
been playing steelpan for twenty two years and Signature
has had the pleasure of studying with many
renowned musicians. Joseph has also performed
and toured with renowned ensembles. In 2006, he

Colin Benn, is the resident violist of Music Haven St Luke’s Steel Band
