Good morning everyone!! I am Sir Philip, and I will be your therapist for this day. With me, are my companions Maam Gue-gue, Maam Riza and Maam Karen. We are presently here in the House of Hope, April 6, 2011, Thursday. We would like to ask your cooperation in 45 minutes. Please rise for our opening prayer.

Opening Prayer: Let us all make the sign of the cross; in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Good morning Lord! We thank you for all the blessings we have received. Thank you for the love, the guidance and for forgiving us from our sins. We hope that our activity will be very successful. These we all ask in Jesus name. Amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Today, our activity is about music, I will let you listen to a song I will play, and then lets sing together the song.

MUSIC THERAPY DEFINITION: Music therapy is an interpersonal process in which the therapist uses music and all of its facets-physical, emotional, mental, social, aesthetic, and spiritual-to help clients to improve or maintain their health. PURPOSE: Music can be beneficial for anyone. Although it can be used therapeutically for people who have physical, emotional, social, or cognitive deficits, even those who are healthy can use music to relax, reduce stress, improve mood, or to accompany exercise. There are no potentially harmful or toxic effects. Music therapy can help patients achieve a number of goals through music, including improvement of communication, academic strengths, attention span, and motor skills. They may also assist with behavioral therapy and pain management. PROCEDURE: 1. I will choose a song to be played 2. Listen to the music 3. Sing the song with the music being played Evaluation: At this point, we encourage you to share something from what you heard and express what you have felt during the activity.
