III. Procedure A. Pre-activity Motivation Lead the class to the school garden or Science and Technology Park. Then let them write all the things they see. The teacher asks, which are living things and non-living things you saw in the garden? Park? B. Activity Proper 1. Show a picture of a typical pond ecosystem and forest ecosystem to the class for five minutes. After a glance remove them from the chalkboard. Group Work: Divide the class into four (4) groups. Let the group recall living things and non-living things in the pond and forest ecosystem. C. Post Activity 1. Publishing and reporting by groups. 2. Analysis and Discussions What are the living things and non-living things in a pond? in a forest? What do you call the place where you find the living and nonliving things interacting with each other?

3. Abstraction and Generalization What place consists of living things and non-living things? What are found in an ecosystem? 4. Application Distribute cut-outs of animals, plants, and other non-living things which interact with one another and with their physical environment. Let each group form a mini-ecosystem using an empty bottle of mineral water, using pictures and Styrofoam. 5. Value Infusion Are plants and animals important? Can we survive without them? How shall we protect them? IV. Identify the living things and non-living things as components of pond system from the organism given. pond carabao giraffe elephant pine tree ducks small fish algae heron stones shrimps ice cream flower frog crocodile water lilies water pebbles
