A NEW YEARS WISH AND CHALLENGE There exists the tradition that every year we make a new years

wish. Perhaps it is very easy to make wishes in life, after all they do not cost anything to make. Making them come true may be somewhat different. New years wishes can vary a lot from one person to another. People look for prosperity, to lose weight, to do better at school, to make that long awaited cruise, or whatever. On the other hand there are wishes that are always present. The wishes made for good health and happiness, love and peace in ones life and the world over. Lately the world has been taken by unprecedented political turmoil, the fall of long standing dictators, economic woes, natural disasters, besides the long-standing issues of poverty, incurable diseases, wars, the environment, etc. In the midst of such a reality a new vision is needed for humanity. While people living under dictatorships strive for democracy, others living under democratic governments are becoming more and more aware of the limits that the system stands for. Democracy is definitely the best system we can presently think of, but it has got its limits too and a big problem is that it is based on the will of the people, and human beings do not always get it right. We have to admit that we human beings are limited and therefore need a helping hand. I think we need to look above the ideas human beings can come up with. To put it short I believe we need to replace the will of the people by the will of God. Can we ever imagine what a difference it will bring? Replacing greed, power, wealth, hatred, war, by thinking about other peoples needs, always ready to serve, sharing, respect to human life and nature around us, peace, love. This is the true new world order that all humanity deserves and exists for. We have seen the power of the media and especially the social networks power to topple dictators, to expose economic fraud and abuse, to denounce scandals, discrimination, injustice, and a lot more. In many cases it started with an individual initiative, ready to risk it all determined to change the fate of millions the world over. Cannot humanity use the same power to spread the good news and say it openly, clearly and loudly that if we really mean to bring a change in the world we need to look to the heavens above and give faith a chance. If you are a Christian, a Jew, a Muslim, a Hindu or a Buddhist, we are all one in proclaiming the love of God and that of neighbour. If you do not belong to any faith, do not run away from it or ignore it. Just take the challenge this year and search for the truth, a truth that will give you real freedom and fullness of life. The true revolution has begun. My new years wish is that the true message of Christmas (God amongst us) be given a chance. The Word made flesh. God himself becomes one of us to show us the way. The Light of the world to take away all darkness. The source of all life to give us life. He came to his own but his own did not receive him. We prefer human intelligence to Godly wisdom. Let us open our hearts and say yes to the Light to take away our darkness and show us the way. Say yes to the true Life to give us life. Let us be humble enough as to let God be God in our life and let us be what we really are, Gods beloved creation. Let us make the most of His love in our lives. Let us proclaim and share His love to all creation. Let it be the driving force behind all that humanity stands for and harvest the fruits that come out of Gods power to heal human fragility. May the year 2012 be the beginning of a new era bringing love, joy and peace to all humanity. May you be the one to bring it around. May God bless you and all your loved ones.
