Laboratory Technician Respiratory Clinical Trials Asthma, Allergy & Lung Biology, Urology, Gastro-Enterology Senior Scientific Officer

This role is in the Respiratory Clinical Trials at the Queen Anne St. Medical Centre, in Central London. The Unit has established links to the Clinical Studies Unit at The Brompton Hospital.

The Unit is dedicated to formally evaluate the mechanisms of airways disease and the properties and clinical potential of new therapeutic agents in allergy, asthma and COPD.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To assist and perform with general laboratory duties to contribute to providing an effective and efficient laboratory service
To ensure an efficient laboratory sample logging system is implemented within the clinical trials unit To ensure that samples are processed, stored and destroyed appropriately according to the study protocol, GCP and GLP practices. To ensure processes and procedures performed are documented fully and records are maintained to a high standard. To ensure that laboratory resources are sourced cost effectively To maintain and promote high standards of infection control practice

To ensure records are maintained and managed to a high standard that adhere to GCP requirements To assist with the development and management of archive databases and transportation records To report system failures to senior members of the clinical research team and contribute to problem solving solutions

PowerPoint. b) To participate in the positive marketing of the clinical trials unit c) To resource and implement a range of marketing strategies to capture participant involvement.

a) To participate in house education programmes as appropriate b) To successfully complete induction and orientation programme c) Comply with units standard operating procedures and policies d) To attend basic life support training on an annual basis e) To demonstrate continuing professional development which reflects the needs of the post holder and the unit
