History of Agricultural Exhibitions

The Jeollanam-do region is known as the heartland of agriculture in Korea, especially pertaining to organic farming. Over the years it has gathered a vast amount of knowledge and expertise and has shared this expertise through agricultural exhibitions for the past 10 years. Until now, the exhibitions have been purely targeted at a domestic audience. The first one in 2002 lasted merely three days and saw exports worth 51 million won. However, by 2011, the exhibition had already grown to be an 11 day affair with 14 buyers from 8 countries a nd exports amounting to 33 billion won. It was only a natural step for the exhibition to become international in scale. With full support of the provincial government and various government agencies, the 2012 IAE Organization Committee is committed to making this year international exhibition a s huge success.
