General Information:
Trophies will be awarded for 1st and 2nd places in all divisions or brackets. Park is located at 1260 South Main Street, Conyers, GA. Tournament Contact will be on site throughout tournament. 10u games will have two (2) umpires No Travel Teams allowed. Any All Star Team welcomed including Dizzy Dean, Dixie Youth, Pony, Little League, etc. 2 pool play games and at least one bracket play game. Coin flip will determine home team in pool play. Higher seed determines home team in bracket play. Each team will provide two games balls prior to each game at home plate meeting Pool and bracket results will be available on-line after completion of respective games Full Concession may be available; however, feel free to bring coolers. Check-In Table and information tent will be set up at entrance to fields between fields 2 & 3. All Teams must check-in and provide appropriate documents per team checklist prior to first game
Contact Runner must slide on a tag play or seek to avoid contact with the fielder and/or catcher. Malicious contact shall supersede all obstruction penalties. The umpire may make a decision to eject based on perceived intent. NO FAKE TAGS. IF UMPIRE DETERMINES A FAKE TAG (MEANING PLAYER DOES NOT HAVE BALL, OR IS NOT PRESENTLY RECEIVING A THROWN BALL IN PROCESS), THEN THE PLAYER SHALL BE EJECTED AND THE RUNNER AWARDED SAID BASE. Bracket seeding at completion of pool play will be determined as follows: 1. Winning Percentage 2. Head to Head (when only two teams have tied that played) 3. Runs Allowed (versus all teams played) 4. Run Differential 5. Runs Scored 6. Coin Flip (When three or more teams are tied, Head to Head is skipped) Pitching Limits/Rules FOR 10U: Refer to Dizzy Dean 2012 Official Rules for Division specific pitching rules. 1 out = 1/3rd inning It shall be the responsibility of each team manager to challenge pitching violations by notifying the Umpire-in-chief and then notifying the tournament director. The pitcher in violation must record an out beyond his legal limit and must be challenged while the pitcher in violation is in the game and in the pitching position. If such violation is the last recorded out of the game, the protest MUST be filed prior to the umpires and the teams leaving the field of play. The game shall be delayed until a determination is made. If the pitcher is in violation of the pitching rules the game will be declared a forfeit and the score will be 6-0 (reflecting 1 run for 6 innings; 7-0 for 13u games.). If such a violation occurs during poolplay, the team in violation of the rule may not advance to the championship bracket regardless of record. Protest Rule The protest fee is $100 cash AT TIME OF PROTEST. The fee shall be returned only if the protest is upheld. Umpires will work to settle all situations on the field. Protest only allowed for age and pitching violations or rule interpretations only. Protests must be declared to the umpire-in-chief and then the Tournament Contact before the next pitch following the dispute. No protest will be allowed following the game. Tournament contact will rule on all protests and their decisions shall be final. Ties Pool Play Ties are allowed Bracket play - INTERNATIONAL RULES WITH LAST BATTED OUT FOR EACH TEAM PLACED AT 2ND BASE. Championship game-extra innings per Major League Rules Additional rules: 1. No In field Warm-ups 2. No hitting outside of the batting cages is permitted. This includes soft toss or hitting sticks. 3. No swinging the bats outside the fenced fields or batting cages is permitted. 4. Coaches ARE NOT REQUIRED TO BE IN FULL UNIFORM. 6. All players and coaches will have shirts tucked in as designed. Time Limits Pool and Bracket Play: 10U 1 hour and 30 minutes (90 minutes) Two (2) umpires furnished for pool & bracket Championship Game: 10u No Time Limit Two (2) umpires furnished for championship Tournament Brackets: Pool play results and brackets will be updated and posted at the field.
