[[Those whom they call upon themselves seek a means of nearness to their Lord: which of
them should be the nearest; and they hope for His Mercy, and they fear His punishment.
Indeed the punishment of your Lord is deserving of being feared.]]

Maryam, while they were not commanded except that they should worship the One Who
truly deserves to be worshipped. None has the right to be worshipped but He. Glorified is
He, and free of the partners which they associate with Him.]]

[[And from mankind there are those who worship others besides Allaah, taking them as
rivals to Him: they love them as they should love Allaah, whereas those who truly believe
are stronger in their love of Allaah; and if only those who wronged themselves by
worshipping others along with Allaah knew, when they see the punishment, that all power
belongs to Allaah, and that Allaah is severe in punishment.]]
