It is like a mustard seed that, when it is sown in the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on the earth. But once it is sown, it springs up and becomes the largest of plants and puts forth large branches. - Mark 4:31-32 University Catholic Center Summer Schedule

UCC Happenings
Happy Fathers Day! This Fathers Day, we give thanks for all men who have been called to fatherhood. Let us remember with gratitude and joy our own fathers and grandfathers, our godfathers and role models, and those men who have been spiritual fathers to the poor and vulnerable through personal charity and service to the Church. We entrust these men to the hands of St. Joseph and ask Gods blessings upon them this day and always. Wheres Fr. Ed? Fr. Ed is attending a workshop in Dallas and then will be taking some vacation time and he is asking for your prayers of safe travels. He will return to the UCC on July 5th. Hospitality Committee Head Needed Since Julie Ulrich will be taking over Aida Regalado's role of coordinating the RE program, we are looking for someone new to coordinate Hospitality. It is a job that can be done largely through email and involves communicating with the staff about which events are coming up and what is needed for each. Then the coordinator sends the messages out and compiles the responses to give to staff. There is not a requirement that you attend any of the events (unless you want to/are able) or that you ensure every requested item is filled. Once you've compiled the responses, the staff member in charge will handle any missing items. If you think you might be able to help out with coordinating next year, or even with coordinating one or two of the events, please let Julie Ulrich and Fr. Ed know. Feel free to contact Julie at utulrichs@yahoo.com if you have any questions. Busted Halo Check out the Busted Halo Show M-F, 6-9pm at Sirius 159/XM 117. Also check out bustedhalo.com!

Reflections on Psalm 23, July 11 The idea of God as the Good Shepherd of His flock is common in both the Old and New Testament. We will examine this very popular psalm based on several authors reflections as an invitation to trust, hope, and believe that the Good Shepherd is with us and will indeed lead us to eternal life. The retreat will occur on Wednesday, July 11. The cost is $30 and includes lunch. Brian Egan will lead this day of reflection. For more information or to register, visit www.austindiocese.org/cedarbrake or email cedarbrake@austindiocese.org.

Weekly Reflection: One of the smallest seeds, the mustard seed, grows into the largest plant, Jesus says in this Gospel. It is the same with our faith, hope and love. These virtues grow within us and even spread to others over time. Blessed Mother Teresa said, Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love. What small things can you do with more love?

Paulist Fathers Mission Statement We give the Word of God a voice in pulpits and print, on radio and television, on the Web and the wide screen. We search out those who have no church home, and welcome home those who have been away. We share the passion of St. Paul for unity in faith and solidarity in mission among all the baptized in the body of Christ. We build bridges of respect and collaboration with people of other world religions. We welcome people of diverse racial and cultural backgrounds in our parish, city center and campus worshipping communities. The Gospel we preach calls for all the children of God to be treated with dignity and justice. We claim Isaac Hecker as our founder, the Holy Spirit as our primary guide, St. Paul as our patron and laity as our valued partners in mission. We are the Paulist Fathers.
