And yet a loving, compassionate Father passing right through it. But sometimes people don't know what love is; you get love and sympathy mixed up. See? Love is obedience. God speaks; it's obedience, regardless of what sympathy or anything else is. No wonder He said, there in the garden of Gethsemane, His sympathy to leave His friends and everything, but said, "Thy will be done." That's right. That's love; that's real love is obedience. There He passed by. Sure, His heart bled for that poor little mother standing there with a waterhead baby and that poor old blind father, crippled up with arthritis, been standing there for years and years, trying to get in that pool when the Angel come down, but they couldn't do it. And through this child there'd come a Redeemer, and through that Redeemer would redeem the whole human race. How You going to do it, Lord?" That wasn't Abraham's thought, that wasn't Abraham's question. Obedience! Didn't say, "How You going to do it?" "It's none of my business. You said it, so I know Your Word's right, if You can keep Your Word for me and can show me that when I was seventy-five years old; when you called me and said, 'Separate yourself and journey into a strange land,' I've been in this land for twenty-five years. Left, an old man, living with a wife that I've lived with since she was a girl," she my half sister. "And then I li-... all this time. And You give me this baby that You promised; I received him as one from the dead. And if you say 'kill him,' You're able to raise him up from the dead again." Oh, my! That's the way, that's it. And He did.

Oh, no other nature could do this. No. Cause, He was the molded perfect character

of God. For, it was a fallen character that all nature had. All men had a fallen character. Even everything that was under man fell. Everything has got a dying character. And He had a living character, so He expressed it in Christ, and He paid the price. And then because of His obedience, He raised Him up on the third day. See? And then He gives to us. That gives to us the--the proof. It gives to us the assurance, that, as long as we're in Him, we're already risen with Him. We won't raise with Christ; we're already raised with Christ. That's right. We are in Christ now. And if Christ be risen from the dead, aren't we raised from the dead with Him? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] Amen. "Now we're setting together in Heavenly places in Him." Oh, my! That ought to make you Presbyterians shout. Uhhuh. Yeah. Certainly. Expressed images of God, molded after the fashion of Christ, that the world can see Him in you. That's the looking glass to look at.

But when you see something genuine, it cannot fail, 'cause it's God. And God sets these things for an example, that others might see. "How," you say, "how does it come? By all night fasting?" That's good. "All night prayer meeting?" That's still good. But obedience to the Word is where it comes, obeying the Word. See? All right. Now, it paid off, by saving his life.

Abraham never moved. He never, never quivered at the Word of God. Said, "Yes, Lord. Here I go." Picked up the wood, and took Isaac right up to the top of the hill, just exactly in obedience. Why? He put the commandment of God first. How is he going to be a father of nations, when he's only got one son, and over a hundred years old now? How did he do it? Because, this, he said, "I..." He perceived that if God was able to give him Isaac, as one from

the dead, He could also raise him up from the dead again. Now, friends, the God that has raised us from the things of the world and the corruption of this earth, can't He much more give us Eternal Life and put us in a land where there's no death? See? We look at these little trials, and we think they are something. Why, they're nothing but little testing times. See? God tested Abraham, but when he got his V-day is when he went up there in obedience to the Word.

What a promise, because of obedience! Obedience is what God wants. It was once said, " Obedience is better than sacrifice." To obey the Lord is better than any sacrifice that you could do. We're facing now a grand text, tonight, The Patriarch Abraham, which was called "the father of the Faith," because that God made him the promise to inherit the earth, and his Seed. And it's through Abraham we, being dead in Christ, become Abraham's Seed and are heirs with Him according to the promise.

And when we can display the Token of the Holy Spirit, shows that we have been accepted in Christ, and that is our Token that all that we have need of is already purchased by Him. We are identified with our Token. The Token must be ready. The Blood, Covenant Blood, is not recognized without the Token. The Word assures us of the promise. The Token is the sign the purchase has been made for us. Full obedience to the full Word of God entitles us to the Token. No other way is there, that you could ever be entitled to the Token, until you fully obey the Word. Not what somebody has put into It, and added to It; but what God said about It!

Full obedience to the Word brings God, the Word Eternal, in you, and that is the Token. When the Word is in you, It's Christ in you. Now notice when, then, when we pray, if we have the Token. And when we pray, we have the Token, we... or present our Token with our prayer. Now, if you're sick, if you're a sinner, if you're in need, when you have the Token, you have a right. If I had the token to a bus line, in my hand, they can't keep me off of that bus; they've accepted my money, and I have the token. In this case, I could not pay my price, you could not pay it, but He paid it for us and give us the Token. Amen. I have a right to Divine healing; Jesus Christ died that I could have Divine healing. I have a right to claim every promise in that Book. When, when you get it? When you have the Token and can represent the Token with your prayer. If you haven't got It... The sign of the full obedience; the fare is paid. Paul tells us, "The Blood speaks."

Full obedience to the full Word of God entitles us to the Token. No other way is there, that you could ever be entitled to the Token, until you fully obey the Word. Not what somebody has put into It, and added to It; but what God said about It! But, oh, brother, when that Token is once placed in your--your--your heart, and you know it's the resurrection of Jesus Christ in you, something is happening. There isn't nothing going to turn you. You know where you belong. Full obedience to the whole Word of God entitles you to the Token, and nothing else. "Blessed is he that does all of His Commandments, he might have right to the Tree of Life." Then, when we pray, we must have the Token to present with our prayers. Now don't fail to get that. When you pray, you must have the Token to hold over your prayer; if you're not, you pray until the Token comes, 'cause you're not promised to receive it. See, you've got to have

this Token first; that's the paying price, your faith to believe it.

And now, see, now you are already resurrected. When God raised Him up, He raised you. The Son is just now on you, and now you're growing into a blossom Life like He was, to be resurrected completely in that last day. Your potentials, you have now. Why do you know? Your soul changed, didn't it? Your body come in obedience to It, didn't it? In obedience to (what, a church?) the Word, which is the Life, then you are now resurrected from the dead. It is Easter, with Jesus and I. It's Easter, with you and Jesus. And it's Easter, with you, I, and Jesus. We are all... Or, Jesus, you, and I, we are all resurrected together.

Every enemy that had raised up before Israel was moved out of the way, for God said He would send hornets before them and would drive out the enemy, as long as they walked in obedience to His command. The job was never too big. The Amalekites, the giants of the day, meant nothing to Israel. Though they were small man in stature, but they were walking in THUS SAITH THE LORD. So no matter what the opposition was, God always seen that His Words of promise never failed Israel.

Deuteronomy being a Greek word meaning "two laws," the word Deuteronomy. And God has two laws. And one of them is the law of death, to disobedient to His Word. We find that, when Eve disobeyed His Word, it brought death. That's one of His laws, "The day you eat thereof, that day you die." And then He has another law, which is the law of Life, to obedience, if you don't do such a things. Why, keeping His Word, you'll live. It boils down to two things, to my way of thinking, that's, either keeping His Word or disobeying His Word. One of these laws was given at Mount Sinai. And the other was... That's the law of death. The other law was give at Mount Calvary, where the law of Life was given, through Christ Jesus. He also has two covenants.
