Presentation by David Barnes: Personal Change Social Change: Solidarity and your personal productivity
Our happiness and personal growth has a fundamental contribution to our: productivity; effective use of strengths; self-balance; risk-taking; vision; relationships and human connectivity. These are things that also reciprocally affect our happiness and personal growth. If we know and grow these personal qualities in a healthy way it has a huge effect on our paths, our enrichment in life and on our contribution to the planet and the workplace. David Barnes is the founder of the Solidarit sub-committee on the 1998/99 Stage. Based on that he has developed a Solidarit proposal to establish an inter-institutional human resources programme of the EU Institutions based on staff training and volunteering"to put the heart back in the institutions ...". Based on the path of creating and sharing this proposal with the EU Institutions, David will share inspiring stories and ideas about getting things done, re-dressing difficulties, communicating ideas, connecting with people and preparation. We spend many years of our lives and a chunk of the hours of our day at work; there is a strong link between meaning, personal development, social progress, happiness and getting things done.
