UNIT OBJECTIVES FOR AN AGGRESSIVE, ATTACKING STYLE OF SPECIAL TEAMS Punt Team 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Opponents can never all out rush our punter for fear of a fake punt. We will punt our opponent into the worst possible field position. Our opponents will not be able to return punts for positive yardage. We will do whatever it takes to allow our punter to punt in rhythm. Hold opponents to 2 yards or less per return. Not have a punt blocked

Punt Return Team 1. We will score or set-up a score every time we field a punt. 2. Opponents must be perfect in their punt execution or we will take advantage of their mistake. 3. We will be anticipating a fake every time our opponent punts. 4. We are running our best offensive play versus a predictable defense; we will out execute our opponent. 5. Average 10 yards per punt return. Score 3 times per year. 6. We will be smart about substitution on punt team Kickoff Team 1. We want our opponent to catch the ball so we can hit him! 2. We will sprint and avoid your blockers. 3. We will kick the ball to a certain area and then out effort and hustle our opponent to the point of attack. 4. We expect to keep our opponent from a return by using all out blitz type coverage. 5. Hold opponents to 18 yards or less per return. 6. Hold are opponents inside the 20 yard line 2

Kickoff Return Team 1. We will score or set-up a score every time we touch the ball. 2. Our opponent had better cover all out or we will beat him back up the field. 3. Average 35 yards per kickoff return. Score 3 times per year.

Extra Point and Field Goal Team 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. We can protect any all out rush We will do whatever it takes to give our kicker time to kick in rhythm. We are perfect in our snap and hold execution. We use a non-rhythmic snap to disallow the defense to tine the snap. Have no extra points or field goals blocked during the year.

Extra Point and Field Goal Rush 1. We pressure the kicker NOT to kick in rhythm NOT to block the kick. 2. We pressure the extra point team to be perfect in snap and hold or we make a play. 3. We do not allow a fake. We want you to kick the football. 4. Create three turnovers or stop three kicks per year.

PUNT RETURN AND BLOCK

MAKING THE BIG PLAY The objective for the punt return team is to score or set-up a score every time the opponent punts. An aggressive, attacking special teams unit makes the opponent fell apprehensive about punting the football. I hope our defense is the type, and I am sure it we are, that is aggressive and will execute the punt return and punt blocks to it potential. PUNT RETURN ALIGNMENT: 1. Nose aligns in the left (A) gap. Sam aligns in a two point stands in the right (A) gap. Sam needs to be able to bounce out the cover number two receiver on the right side. 2. Tackles are on the LOS, inside shade or four technique of offensive tackle. 3. Laser and Razor are on the LOS, outside shad or nine technique of the wing. 4. Will is head up on the center. Will needs to be able to bounce out the cover number two receiver on the left side. 5. Corners are five to seven yard off the wide receiver. (Depending of the first down marker) 6. EXTRA POINT & FIELD GOAL ALIGNMENT Lineman and Tight Ends Splits & Stance 1.

Offensive Sunseri Snapper: Sunseri Holder: Freeborn Kicker: Freeborn Wings: Bushman

The guards will align with their toes splitting the middle of the centers foot to set the alignment of the lineman and tight ends. A Three-inch split taken from the centers foot to the guards foot and likewise down the line. The lineman and tight ends are in a two-point stance with their feet shoulder width apart, inside foot staggered back 2 to 4 inches. Knees bent thighs parallel to the ground, back flat, hands on the knees, chin up and eyes looking straight ahead. The weight distributed evenly, ready to step backward.

2.

Wing Backs Splits & Stance 1. The wingbacks align with their inside foot six inches directly behind the outside foot of the tight end. Using the same type of stance as the lineman and tight ends, they turn their shoulders outward at a 45-degree angle to the tight end facing outward.

Coaching Notes
Three inch splits are used across the line with the inside foot staggered 2 to 4 inches back. Wingbacks are six inches behind the tight ends outside foot with a 45-degree turn to the outside. Tee is seven yards in depth behind the center. A four inch step backward over lapping the outside foot of the man inside of him is taken when blocking Cadence is Set followed by the center snap at the centers discretions.

BLOCKING ASSIGNMENTS Lineman and Tight Ends 1. Upon the snap of the football, all the interior lineman from the guards to the tight end will step with their inside foot behind the outside foot of the person inside of then and protect their inside gaps. The step is a quick, four inch step backward and inside. They will keep their shoulders square and thrust their hands upwards jamming the rushers underneath their shoulder pads. The step is to provide the blocker with a staggered foot base to brace himself against the rush. His weight remains forward and he should take the burnt of the rush with his shoulder pads and hands. The step moves the blockers shoulders forward but not down into the gap. Each blocker is responsible for jamming both their inside gap and outside gap with their hands. Their shoulders must remain square and their outside foot MUST remain in place. They cannot move their outside foot or turn their shoulders. If thy do either of these they will open a seam for a rusher to get through and block the kick.

4.

Wing Backs 1. The wingbacks take the same four-inch step backward and behind the outside foot of the tight end as the lineman. They must make sure they secure the inside gap first since this is the shortest route to block the kick. They must be prepared to reach out with their outside arm and push anyone coming hard off the corner. They only need to push or bump him enough to interrupt his tract to the kicker.

BAD SNAP RULES FIRE In the event of a bad or mishandled snap, the holder will yell FIRE to indicate that the kick attempt has gone awry. This command will alert the tight ends and wing backs to release to their pass routes. The linemen now have to stay behind the LOS and must not release to cover a field goal attempt. The kicker becomes a blocker for the holder who will rollout in either direction and throw a pass to one of his receivers.

Coaching Notes
Tight Ends Wing Backs 10 yard corner 5 yard out

The tight ends and wing backs need to get into the route as quickly as possible, No cuts, fakes or delays, get to the flat and corner so the holder has a place to throw the football as he is being chased.
