Transition Fitting from DCI pipes to PE / PVC pipes, Order No. 637 N

1. Intended use and product description The transition fitting Order No. 637 is designed to establish a restraint connection between PE/PVC pipes and DCI pipes for buried pipeline construction in the field of drinking water supply up to a max. operating pressure of 16 bar. Therefore it is equipped with a socket for PE pipes (with interlocked grip ring) / PVC pipes (with corundum grip ring) at one end and a screw socket for DCI pipes with a restraint corundum grip ring at the other end. Please observe the applicable standards and codes, the regulations for the prevention of accidents and the regulations of the professional associations. 2. Installation fitting end for PE/PVC pipes with detachable taper ring N

Use pipe end without notches or scores on the surface. Cut the pipe straight and chamfer it without burrs (chamfering tool Order No. 598). For pipes with a very slick surface (e.g. PE-X pipes) we recommend roughening the pipe end slightly only in the area of the grip ring normal to the pipe axis!

The pipe and the fitting must be clean and free from lubricants. Mark the inserting length at the pipe. Push on the push-fit fitting completely by twisting and rocking it. Use only clear water or Hawle mounting spray (no grease or soap) for mounting aid!

Check restraint joint and tightness by way of pressure testing.

4. Exchange of grip ring

Relieve the fitting or pipe in mounting direction: (short jerk) !

Remove the retaining ring. Screw off the taper area (blue cast ring) by means of an appropriate tool (either pipe wrench or turn handle)

If the fitting is used again, exchange the grip ring. Check the O-ring sealing and exchange it, too, if necessary. Please dont forget to exchange the grip rings. O-rings must be exchanged if they show visible damage.

5. Installation fitting end for DCI pipes with threaded ring:

Use pipe end without surface damage. Remove any wrappings. Cut the pipe straight and chamfer it without burr.

Check the correct seat of the grip ring (narrow end pointing towards the screw socket). Mark the inserting length and push on the transition fitting completely.

Establish screw socket connection. Check tensile strength and tightness by pressure testing.

6. Pressure testing: Please perform a pressure test after installation applying a max. test pressure of 24 bar. Please observe the code of DVGW for the performance of pressure tests, as well as the relevant safety precautions!
