1. A student carries out an experiment to investigate the relationship between pressure, P and volume, V, for about three-quarters full of air in a syringe as shown as in Figure 5.1. The smallest scale of the syringe is 2.5 cm3.

3. Diagram 5 shows two pails, R and S, with R containing more water than S. Both the pails are exposed to sunlight. After a few hours it was observed that the water in pail S is hotter than the water in pail R.
