LIONS CLUB OF HYDERABAD EASTS UNIQUE E-CIRCULAR
As we set foot into our 45th year of existence, proud members of Lions club of Hyderabad East extend warm greetings to fellow Lions from around the world. We look forward to a year replete with service activities and fellowship which would pave way for a better world, and add happiness to humanity. Under the able leadership of our President, Lion Pushpa Boob, who has been a dedicated and devoted Lion for years now and a leading protagonist for cornea collection and eye donation in the city, we hope to steer further on the We Serve journey.

We have a firm belief in the strength of togetherness and an understanding that a successful team beats with one heart.

We seek guidance, patronage and support from fellow lions for our existing permanent projects, new initiatives as well as suggestions for relevant activities.

Our Permanent Projects

Lions Club of Hyderabad Easts Bhanji-Kheraj Blood Bank, Bank Street, Koti: One of the oldest Lions blood bank in the city, it has been organizing voluntary blood donation camps for blood collection and has been providing blood to those in need at nominal cost or for free. This year, upgradation of the facilities available is on the anvil. We seek requests for organization of voluntary blood donation camps, blood group identification camps and for approaching the bank for those in need of blood. Please contact Mr. Vijay @ 9440482780. Lions Club of Hyderabad Easts Kabra Portable Dental Chair: More than 200 patients received treatment at the camp site for their dental problems with the Portable dental unit at various dental camps organized last year. This facility has added a new meaning and a vital dimension to dental health check- up camps organized by the club, wherein the energies do not fritter away as the patients get treatment too and are not just checked and referred for treatment. It has been helpful in reaching out and providing dental care at old age home, orphanages and schools for specially abled children. Requests for organization of dental camps from other clubs are welcome. Please contact me @ 9348563946 or E-mail drpavanbaldava@gmail.com Old age home Seetarambagh Complete medical care including routine investigations, medicines, periodic checkups, physiotherapy, Eye & dental care including spectacles & dentures, Surgeries, orthopaedic care, diabetes & blood pressure monitoring is being provided to about 40 residents of the old aged home. Doctors are available on call round the clock throughout the year. A prosthetic limb was donated to the caretaker. Water Purifier and softener is being installed soon. Given the nature of service, there is always a dearth of resources to meet the requirements. Help is sought in the form of monetary donations as well as in form of medicines, walking aids, wheel chairs etc., Please contact Club Secretary Ln. RadhaKrishna Home for Children Nanalnagar, Hyderabad Every year, members of our club celebrate the festival of Raksha Bandhan with these children and provide for their basic needs, school uniform, stationery, and upgradation of facilities available for them. We request fellow Lions to join us this year and add their mite to the cause. An annual health check-up is organized for the children every year. Apart from our regular activities including tree plantation, educational aid, health care for the underprivileged, world peace, health awareness and prevention of diseases, a few newer initiatives would be taken up this year. Adoption of Ekal Vidyalayas / providing support to them: Ekal vidyalayas is a unique concept wherein free single teacher schools are run by a NGO. We would be providing Educational charts for about 100 schools in Medak District. It is a valuable service activity in tune with the international directors Reading action programme. Donation of Sewing Machines & Computers: With empowerment being the idea, this activity would entail provision of means to earn a living.
