Credit-Based Architecture
The new GNIIT academic architecture is a credit-based system designed to workload. It is a standard metric adopted by many educational institutions expected to put in while completing a course. The programme architecture denes the overall number of credits that a student must accumulate to be awarded the programme title or degree. These credits are then distributed across semesters and within semesters student will have to put into each course as well as the overall programme. For example at NIIT, students pursuing the GNIIT programme are expected to complete two semesters of Professional Practice (PP) by working full time in organisations. Each of the semesters of Professional Practice is assigned a credit load of 20 credits. Thus, any GNIIT student necessarily has to accumulate 40 credits through Professional Practice. Further, programme requirements may include specifying that a certain the student is nearing graduation. The credit details of each course as well as semester in the GNIIT programme are given along with their description on page 22. courses based on their specic areas of interest. Typically, such courses, A credit-based academic architecture makes it easy for a programme to be updated and remain current. An obsolete course can be removed and substituted by another course with a similar credit load. In the same number of credits be accumulated in a particular area or through a particular mode of learning. Typically one hour of classroom lecture is given the same weightage as two hours of lab work. Thus, if one credit of learning is achieved by attending 15 hours of classroom lectures, it will typically take 30 hours of lab work to achieve one credit. In the same vein, a four-credit course will

NIIT has access to these upcoming technologies due to its academic alliances with the global technology majors. Our syllabus is mapped to dynamic global technological trends. At GNIIT, students can prepare for specic job proles based on their areas of interest. This is possible through a pool of elective courses in Semester 5. So, through a combination of the electives based on the core course content, you can identify custom skill sets as per your desired job prole. At the end of the programme you are thus qualied to try for the global certications, resulting in a triple qualication-GNIIT, graduation and technology certications. These certications give you the credentials to become globally mobile IT professionals.
Semester Projects
The GNIIT curriculum design ensures that no learning from earlier semester(s) is lost when you graduate to higher semesters. In every semester starting from Semester 2, students will work on projects that will assimilate the learning of all semesters learnt till then. The semester projects: Help students demonstrate skills using real life case studies Focus on assimilating the learning from earlier semester(s) Continuously engage the learner to implement the concepts and skills learnt in previous semesters

Professional Practice
A year of professional practice at the end of graduation and ve semesters at NIIT exposes our students to working in a real industry environment. It is an internship that consolidates the students knowledge into applied skill-sets. Over 3,800 reputed organisations are enlisted as NIIT partners in providing professional practice to GNIIT students. Even better, students get to earn-while-they-learn during their stint at the professional practice site. Typically, a student gets a stipend from the organisation that recruits them for a year of professional practice. This helps our students recover anywhere from 50% to 150% of the programme fees even before they complete their studies. Our students get a chance to take charge of their career even before it begins.
