Pride Week in Peel (PWIP) planning group is pleased to announce that we will be making a deputation to Mississauga City Council on July 4, 2012. Mayor McCallion and Mississaugas 11 Councillors will hear from Pride Week in Peel representatives. We will be presenting A snapshot of the organizations that represent all parts of Peel that work hard for many months of the year to put together Pride Week in Peel 2012 A history of Pride celebrations The very full schedule of Pride Week in Peel Testimonials from community members An invitation to Council The deputation will provide us with an exciting opportunity to demonstrate the need for positive and safer spaces for LGBTTIQQ2S* community members in Mississauga. We have already received support from some Councillors, including Councillor Fonseca (Ward 3), who was instrumental in our applying to hold the March and Community Fair on municipal property at Mississauga Celebration Square on July 10, 2012. We invite community members and service providers interested in pushing for greater LGBTTIQQ2S*-positivity within Mississauga to join us in Council Chambers on Wednesday July 4, 2012.
