STINT: BUENOS AIRES

And other seeds fell into good soil and produced grain, growing up and increasing and yielding thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold. And he said, He who has ears to hear, let him hear. Mark 4: 8-9

This verse has never been made more real to me than during my time here in Argentina. A huge part of what I do here is talk to students on campus about what they believe about life, the world, and most importantly about how they view God. With each conversation I am made more and more aware that I am not in control of how they receive the news of Christ or how they respond to it. God simply asks that we share, and He does the opening of hearts. The Lord has been teaching me this during my time here - that He is in control and I am called to be obedient. The most beautiful and miraculous aspect of His work is when I can see how He is preparing hearts to hear. They are hungry for the news, and as the Bible says in Mark 4: 9 And he said, He who has ears to hear, let him hear. Even better when the soil is good and they are eager to hear. *and remember, He prepares the good soil! On the Agronomy campus, my friend, Karen, is one student in particular who is looking and hungry for the Gospel. Even though she has yet to give her life to Christ, her interest in learning more amazes me. Karen met my teammate, Berkeley, on campus through our English Club. We met up with her to practice English and to share with her. After talking more, she was invited to our girls Bible Study on campus. (Which is so awesome, because our prayers for this study were that it would be open to those who are seeking as well!) She has been coming to our study where we have been focusing on "who is Jesus according to the Bible.

Karen

After several attempts tomeet with Karen and share with her more, I randomly ran into her the other night on campus. We talked for a while, and I was able to share with her about Christ and the personal relationship that He desires to have with her. We talked about why people dont always experience the abundant life that God promises those who follow Him and how we can so often fill that void with other things. She told me yeah, we all have a void that we try to fill with a lot of things. And when I asked her if that was ever enough her response was a simple, no. We discussed what it meant to have a personal relationship with Jesus, and even though she believes, she told me that she does not have a close relationship. Later, I saw another girl, Roco, who is involved in our movement, and she told me she saw Karen as she was leaving and that she was reading the information that I had given her and was really excited! Please pray for Karen and other students like her who have a hunger for knowing more. Pray that she would understand that she ultimately desires for Christ to fill the void in her life and that she would give her life to Him.

the spiritual growth of the girls in our movement : Roco, Florencia, Dara, Raquel, Heidy, Carla, & Brenda that students in the ministry here in Buenos Aires would grow as spiritual leaders within the group and amongst their peers pray that my team would have wisdom in talking with students who, like Karen, truly desire to know more and that we would depend on the Lord to prepare their hearts
