New Tern TV Program for RTE 27th June Recently a TV production crew made a visit to The Ullans Centre to record material for a new Programme being made by TERN TV for RTE. Irish comedian Kevin McActeer interviewed Anne Morrison Smyth and Gary Blair on the Ulster Scots language and its use throughout Ulster. Following this Kevin was interviewed on fUSe fm and attended an Ulster Scots language class held in local school Ballymoney High. The Programme is due to be shown early 2012 on RTE television.
Layer the meat, potatoes and onion in a casserole dish, seasoning each layer well with salt and pepper. Finish with a layer of potatoes. Fill to about two-thirds full with water, add the thyme and cover with a lid. Bring to the boil and simmer for 12 hours until the lamb is really tender. Serve hot. ingredients 900g/2lb neck of lamb, cubed 900g/2lb potatoes, sliced 450g/1lb onions, thickly sliced 1 sprig of fresh thyme salt and freshly ground black pepper

American Visitors 6th July The Young Ambassador Programme is a project that is organized through the friends of Saint Patrick organization and the Saint Patrick Centre in Downpatrick. It is organized to promote a greater understanding of the shared culture and heritage between Northern Ireland and North America. Six Young Ambassadors came for 15 days and two which, Caitlin and Sarah, had a strong interest in Ulster Scots came up to the Ullans Centre along with Ulster Scots agency Development Officer Maynard Hanna to visit the Centre and have a chat with Anne and Gary. Classes & Tuition Piping and Drumming, Monday nights @ 7pm, Ullans Centre Scottish Country Dance, Wednesday nights, Evergreen Centre. Fiddle and Tin Whistle tuition starting Tuesday evenings.
