National Institute of Technology, Silch4ar, an Institute of National Importance declared by the NIT Act, 2007, imparts quality Technical Education in Science, Engineering & Technology at Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral levels. (II) Reservations : Reservation will be as per Govt. of India norms for SC/ST/OBC/PWD.

Academic reimbursements and incentives:


In addition to normal pay and allowances as applicable to the central Govt. employees stationed at Silchar, following additional incentives are also available to the faculty members:1. Full funding for attending national conference either for presenting a paper or chairing session as per Institute guidelines. 2. Financial assistance up to Rs. 3.00 lakhs in 3 years under Professional Development Fund. 3. Reimbursement of telephone charges up to Rs.750/- per month.

General conditions :
(i) The Institute reserves the right to cancel the recruitment without assigning any reason. (ii) The prescribed qualification and experience are minimum and the mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview. (iii) No correspondence will be entertained with the candidates, who are not called for interview/selected for appointment. (iv) Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification of candidature. (v) Legal disputes, if any, with NIT, Silchar, will be restricted within the jurisdiction of Silchar Court only. (vi) Complete application form shall be submitted to the Registrar, NIT, Silchar 788010, Assam. (vii) All reserved category candidates shall be required to submit attested copies of the latest Caste certificate issued by competent authority. Similarly, PWD candidates shall be required to submit proof of physical disability certificate from competent medical authority. (viii) The applications of the candidates, who have applied against advt no. 01/12 (faculty) under special recruitment drive, will be considered for these posts also. However, they may submit any additions and updates to qualification/experience, if any.
