TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION Does the scene of the disciples being sent out two by two bring to mind any other scripture? After the flood, Noah opens the door of the ark and sends his passengers out to renew the face of the earth. Certainly, Jesus has the same purpose. The purpose is fulfilled in your communion in the Body of Christ today, and in your being sent from the Eucharist into the world. The sending is so important that our word Mass derives from it. In Latin, the last words of worship are Ite, missa est, which means Go, you are sent. From that, people began to call Catholic worship the missa, or in English, the Mass. Our English words dismissal, missal, emissary, and mission are all related. We are not sent into the workaday world alone, but in relationship to one another. Some people have acquired the unhappy habit of leaving worship as soon as they receive Communion and therefore miss the prayer, the dismissal, and the solemn blessing that are essential parts of the Mass. The dismissal is a seal on our Communion and reveals its purpose. Thanks be to God! James Field, Copyright J. S. Paluch Co.

KNOW THE MASS, ONE WORD AT A TIME

Forgive

No one enjoys freedom more than a forgiven person. To be unburdened of a haunting past that we regret or to be released from earlier missteps that seemed to doom our futurethat is a real sense of freedom that flows from forgiveness. Make no mistake about it, every time we celebrate Mass together we meet the God who forgives us in Jesus Christ, This is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. At Mass, we know unmistakably and unforgettably that God forgives us. The other side of forgiving belongs to us. Every Mass challenges us to forgive as we have been forgiven: So when you are offering your gift at the altar, if you remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother or sister, and then come and offer your gift. (Matthew 5:2324)

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
It is as close as you can come in this life talking with God face to face. You are important to the Lord. Come when you are hurting, you have fear, anxiety, pain and suffering of any kind. Come and spend an hour with Jesus Christ at St. Alberts on Thursdays 7:00 8:00 pm in the church.

Vocation Holy Hour is on 1st Thursday of every month.

C.C.D. Registrations are available at the Rectory. Our Religious Education program is for all students in 1st - 8th grade. Families must register every year. We encourage early registration as our packets with room # and program information will be prepared in the next month to go out the beginning of August. Students who will be making a sacrament (First Holy Communion, Confirmation ) will need a copy of their Baptismal Certificate. If you have a child who has never had any religious education we have a program for them to catch up and make their sacraments. If you have any questions please contact us at 708-636-0406 or at stalbertccd@hotmail.com If you still have your text book from last year please return it to the Rectory. The books are expensive to replace so we do try to get them back at the end of the year. Parish Volunteer Forms can also be returned to the Rectory at any time. If you would like to volunteer for Bingo, Market Day, Carnival or Pancake Breakfasts please pick up a form, fill it out and drop it at the Rectory and you will be contacted.

CCD First communion DVDs are in. They can be picked up at the Rectory: Monday - Friday 8:30 am-8:30 pm, Saturday 9:00am to 5:30 pm and Sunday 9:00 - 2:00 pm.

Moesz by pewien, e za kadym razem, kiedy wsplnie celebrujemy Msz w. spotykamy Boga, ktry przebacza nam w Jezusie Chrystusie. Potem przyjd i dar swj ofiaruj! (Mt 5, 2324)
