1.) America

goes into war, not only because of the sinking of Lusitania, but also because it is the nation's duty to fight for freedom and defend our people. Democracy should be for all the people around the world and even though many fear of going into war, it is our obligation to do right for the society and one day live in a world of peace where dominion will no longer exist. I believe these reasons are very persuasive and it helps us realize and see why so many of us are doing this for the good of the nation. America's war aims included "vindication of the principles of peace and justice." America's only intention was to gain peace liberty by the end of the war. Although staying neutral felt like the right thing to do for many of us, the nation wanted a fair fight in which we will see our fate and if we really do believe in the values of liberty. Wilson's goals were overly idealistic because he expected too much international law and government since he only entered the war for the selfish interest of the people in Wall Street. and legal rights should guide American diplomacy because as the duty of our nation we must remember and follow the Constitution and Amendments that our forefathers proposed to us. Although many of the people in the nation believe that America should fight for freedom, we must also remember the obligation that America holds. Woodrow Wilsons Fourteen Points can be an example of how the world should live in peace, freedom, and democracy. questioned why America entered in World War I because it was thought at first that we should remain neutral and follow Wilsons points. However, the calls of our nation to become civilized as one and in harmony with other countries around the world were strong to our citizens which eventually influenced us to enter the war.

1.) The major powers greatly compared in terms of troop strength, national and per capita income, population, and wartime expenditures, in which the numbers were much greater. The Allies had a whopping 42 million troops while the Central Powers had only 23 million troops. The national incomes of the Great Powers were also much larger. 2.) Yes, I do believe the Central Powers would have been in a much better position to fight the war if the war was waged earlier. This way, they would have been more prepared with their troops and strategies.

1.) The United States favored the Allied forces to win because it would benefit their economic wealth and status as a world-wide nation. William Jennings Bryan was eager to choose sides because he feared the American loans to foreign countries would clearly show who was choosing which side.

2.) Yes, the United States had a responsibility to lend money to the Allied forces even though they decided to remain neutral at first. Then America was eager to get involved for the sake of their own nation-wide growth and self interests.
