CREW: US Department of Agriculture (USDA): Regarding Records from USDA Showing Wall Street Influence on FSIS Regulation

On March 29, 2011, CREW sent a Freedom of Information Act request to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service seeking records that may shed light on whether Wall Street investors have attempted to influence the outcome of a pending FSIS regulation governing catfish. This is part of a larger effort CREW has launched to determine the degree of influence Wall Street has yielded over agency policies and regulations.
