Barwest (Malik & Ilitch) - Campaign Finance Fraud 2006

During the 2004 political campaign cycle, Barwest, a Detroit casino syndicate controlled by Michael J. Malik, Sr. and Mrs. Marian Ilitch failed to report a $26,000+ contribution made to the local GOP committee affiliated with Rep. Richard Pombo (then chairman of the House Committee overseing Native American matters). In 2006, after an investigation, the CA Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) found Barwest (Malik & Ilitch) to have violated CA election reform laws on two counts and fined Barwest $6,500.
