2011 Global Status Report on PPH & PE/E

www.mchip.net/globalstatusreport A country-level survey and analysis was conducted for two consecutive years. The survey was completed in January to March 2012 in 37 countries, and previously in January to March 2011 in 31 countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America, including MCHIP priority countries facing the highest disease burden. The purpose of this analysis is to document progress in national scale-up of PPH- and PE/E-reduction programs in all MCHIP and affiliated programs around the world. The survey was completed by in-country teams with expertise in policy and practice relating to the two leading causes of maternal mortality: Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) and Pre-Eclampsia/Eclampsia (PE/E). It is anticipated that the survey used in this analysis will be repeated on an annual basis in an effort to maintain current information and track progress. Please find the 2012 and 2011 reports and appendices, including completed surveys and visual scale-up maps, as well as blank surveys in three languages to be used as references.
