Austerlitz is one of Napoleon's greatest victories. Late in the season, at the end of a long and vulnerable supply line, deep into eastern Europe, Napoleon tempted the allied armies of Austria and Russia to attack his forces, on ground of his choosing, and inflicted on them a crushing defeat.
