STAFF DEMOGRAPHICS
18 % are in their first 5 years of teaching
61.7 % have taught for 11 years or more 40.4 % have taught for over 20 years
Almost 80 % of staff own a smartphone but less than 20 % have an iPad. Nearly 60 % reported that they have had no difficulty in integrating technology in their subject area. Just under 70 % of staff have their own Facebook page (The figure for students was 72 %) However, 27 % of staff (and only 12 % of students) reported having no involvement in social media/blogging/photo sites. 98 % would like to see more Professional Development time devoted to up-skilling in Learning Technologies. virtually 60 % of staff could learn more with respect to the latest technologies. (Those who labeled themselves as capable, learning or struggling.) By contrast, the student percentage was only 3 %. who believe that their students know more about I.T... (* 57 % of students surveyed agreed that they know more!)
a need for more training we can assume that even those who regard themselves as Competent want to learn more! The figure for students was higher at 88 % holding teachers back but rather lack of PD in this area.
