Communication

Pay attention and listen carefully. Greet new ideas with interest. Maintain eye contact Make notes and sketches. Speak slowly and clearly.

Knowing and understanding group resource.


Recognize knowledge and use group resources as a major technique. Involve more people in active leadership by giving each a part according to his or her resources. Evaluate the impact the availability of resources has on doing a job and maintaing the group.

Planning
Consider the task and objectives. What do you want to accomplish? Write the plan down and review it with the post. Execute the plan. Evaluate the plan. Reach a decision, evaluating each option.

Controlling group performance


Control is most often an overt behaviour of the leader. The leader in a group deploys the people in his patrol in a manner to promote control, breaking up destructive cliques, to encourage greater participation, etc.

Setting the example


The leader sets the example by doing what he expects others to do as: Doing his own job well. Trying his hardest. Behaving maturely. Showing a positive attitude.

Evaluation
Use evaluation as a technique to maintain group integrity while improving job performance. Analyze a situation for improvement. Use a variety of strategies for evaluating purposes. Develop an attitude of constant evaluate.

Representing the group


Understand representing the group as the process by which other group identify his group. Develop an attitude of faithful representation of the entire group . Accurately and responsibly communicate from and back to the original group.

Effective teaching
The steps of effective teaching include: Choosing the learning objectives. Providing a discovery experience that helps the learner understand the need for the skill. Demonstrating or explaining the skill Allowing the learner to practice the skill Evaluating the process.

Sharing leadership
Calling on others has multiple benefits to the group and group members. When individuals are asked to contribute, they feel more involved and committed. Develop a concept of leadership for a group which permits different function of leadership being shared or distributed among group members according to the situation and members strength.
