STEP WISE SLIDES WITH IMPORTANT NOTES

INTRODUCTION :
Various modes of EDWinXP and their use.

Introduction to functional keys and learn how to use

them. Slides showing examples of each function of the functional block.

Double click here to open a new page where you can assemble components.

Here you have to assemble components and simulate it.

Click preferences and then click on Mixed mode simulation for both analog and digital Circuit implementations. [ mode 1 ]

[ Mode 2 ]

Click close to open a new page with More components.

This is the new window with some minor changes In the functional area.

To draw a diagram with the VHDL code

Write the number of inputs Write the number of outputs

Click next to Open VHDL window

Click here to compile and run the VHDL code

Write only the operational VHDL Code here

See the output here or a new window will show the output

Select the appropriate Filter type and proceed by double clicking on it

Components library :
Search for any component by name here
Search component by package here

Directly access components from here

REMEMBER:
Always put a analog or digital ground anywhere in the

connection of the circuit for both analog or digital circuits respectively. If the functional block is not present in the window then it can be used from the Tool command. The Tool command has the options like components , instructions, connections, etc.

Steps for simulation :

Always click on preprocess before going for analysis The first step for executing or checking the conditions of the circuit both analog and digital.

Click close to end the preprocess

Click Analysis and observe the new window, it will have tick on Transient analysis. More options can be chosen depending on the circuit and its response.

Click START to begin the analysis, a new window showing graph of analysis will appear.

ANALOG CIRCUIT DESIGN :

Ex : design of BJT amplifier.

SOME USEFUL COMMANDS:

Select the components by double clicking on the

name of the component. Then move the pointer in the simulator board, the component will be dragged with the pointer , then click to place it at the desired position. Then press Esc to cancel the component command, so as to avoid repetition of the components. Then double click on another component and repeat the above procedure.

STEP 1

Double click on the component to get it on the Circuit board

STEP 2
To rotate a component, right click on it and then follow the following steps :-

First select on the option rotate by 90, then click on the component t rotate it.

STEP 3
Click on the first option and click on one end on the component and drag it to the other component.

After connecting press F4 to end the connection
