INDIAN CASTE SYSTEM

Indian people has been seperated into some groups. These groups are identified by the occupation of the community. These groups are called castes. Priests and religious men form the best class of Indian Caste System. Actually, they are the producers of this system.

The Indian caste system has been in use for many years. Still today the values of the caste system are held strongly. It has kept a sense of order, and peace among the people.

There are five different levels of the system: Brahman, Kshatriya, Vaishya, Shudra, and Harijans. Within each of these categories are the actual "castes" or jatis within which people are born, marry, and die.

Actually caste system is a deception which causes India to be broken down. Religious men made it up because they wanted to protect their reputation. Their religion played an important role in forming caste system

Indian community is divided. Untouchables often uprised. According to caste system in India, rich people got a higher level and they became richer and poor people became more poor.

Poeple who are from different castes can not marry. A person can not change his caste in this world because Indian people believe in reincarnation. They believe that when they come this world for second time they will be in a higher level. People from different castes can not eat food together. People from different castes can not work together.

They all have their own place among each other and accept that it is the way to keep society from disintegrating to chaos. This system has worked well for Indian people and still has a major role in modern India.
