STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

Lee et al, (1999) argues that social support could be one of the importance approaches in improving students learning However, a growing number of literature and empirical research have indicated that college students and young adults cite parents as an important influence on students choices (Knowles, 1998; Mau & Bikos, 2000, Joseph, 2000; Mazzarrol & Soutar, 2002). Several studies showed that peers influenced decision of youth that can have long lasting consequences (Sewell et al, 1970; Eisenberg 2004; Gardner & Steinberg 2005) Thus, the study attempts to understand the role of social support (family/friend) in managing students decisionmaking that might be effect to academic achievement.

PROSEDURE
DATA ANALYSES The data will be analyzed by using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) program. The data will be analyzed by computing descriptive statistics, correlation coefficient, and t-statistics. Descriptive statistics used in this study are frequencies, percentages, means, and standard deviations. Independent sample t-test is used to measure differences between variables. Correlations coefficient are used to determine the strength and direction of relationship among the variables

POPULATION/SAMPLE
Population: Undergraduate and Postgraduate students from (IRKHS) of IIUM GOMBAK (The Largest faculty in IIUM, with over 4000 students (undergraduate: 3228 Postgraduate 1278 students) (IIUM Admissions and Records (A&R) Sample: 367 Students (stratified random sampling)
