Why Memo ?
The basic function of memo is to make the reader aware of specific information as efficiently as possible
A memo can be written to inform , to persuade , or to give specific feedback .
General Rules
Keep your audience in mind : identify the person or persons to whom you are writing. Follow a structure : for memos , we have some formal standard format way but it may vary from organization to organization .

Introduction ( opening segment) :explaining why the memo has been written and the topic of memo . Body ( analysis segment) : discussing the topic in detail . Conclusion ( closing segment) : explaining the implication of the memo and what the audience should think about the memos topic.
Tips
Identify your audience : identify the person or persons to whom you are writing . Think about what they know , who they are . Remember the memos purpose . Use headings and bullets to highlight the memos key parts . Be concise in your language : do not use long sentences in memos. Keep memos short and to-the-point.
Remember memo format : never use a salutation or complimentary closing with a memo. Be coherent: limit each paragraph to only one idea . Keep your sentences flowing smoothly , and keep them short . Proofread your work .

It is a collection of related sentences around single topic. And it means is that there is main idea which you want to focus upon and you develop this idea through a paragraph.
