RHI Introduction

RHI is a subsidiary of the listed Singapore company The Straits

Trading Company Limited; operating in 11 cities across Asia-Pacific with

its base in Sydney.

It has two brands namely

Renaissance Hotels and Resorts International-Business Class hotel

brands with a strong network presence

The Marque it has three hotels in east coast of Australia. It has a

range of hotel styles


With the intention of international expansion and capitalizing on the

booming Indian Hospitality industry RHI joint ventured with Chennai

based Indian developer XS real properties.

The joint venture company which is known as Renaissance India

Hospitality Private Limited manages hotels and resorts in India.

XS real properties uses its terrain, local market and network to introduce business opportunities to JVCO and support RHI to understand the market situation for its entry.

New Hotel Development and Distribution of supply by 2012

Largely concentrated in 18 main cities.

The average occupancy rate across the ten cities in the 5-star Delux, 5star, and 4-star categories was around 68%.

In Kochi, the distribution of rooms by 2012 is 4%.

Trident Hotels are five-star hotels owned and managed by The Oberoi Group. Presently there are nine Trident hotels in India. These are located in Mumbai, Gurgaon, Chennai, Coimbatore, Bhubaneswar, Kochi, Agra, Jaipur and Udaipur. The Taj Malabar, Kochi is majestically situated on the Wellingdon Island in Kochi. It is located at the heart of the city. Taj Malabar is situated 45 Kms from airport and 10 Kms from Railway Station. In the 4 star hotels segment, there is not much competition for foreign MNC hotels. R has clear chance of taking the market by storm.
