Deprivation of well being means the inability to satisfy ones basic needs or necessities. Basic needs includes: >food >shelter >clothing >education , etc.

Overpopulation and lack of access to birth control methods. Crime including violent gangs and drug cartels. Historical factors for eg: imperialism, colonialism and post communism. Cultural causes. Discrimination Health care Disease similarly substance abuse like cigarette, alcohol. Individual beliefs, action and choices.

cycle of poverty is the another term used for poverty. is the set of factors or events by which poverty once started is likely to continue unless there is outside intervention.

Even

after more than 60 years of independence government has done many poverty alleviation programs and upto some extent they have succeeded but still OF ITS 1 BILLION OF INHABITANTS, 350-400 MILLION ARE BELOW THE POVERTY LINE. 75% of the total population under poverty belongs to rural area. More than 20% of the Indian population is under poverty line. Government study fixes poverty line at Rs66 for cities and Rs35 for villages.
